Introduction

Bio

My name is Naomi Marie Elidios Chadwick. I was born in San Diego, California, but I currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I pretty much have a traditional family, which involves happily married parents, 1 younger sister, and an older brother. I was raised Christian, and I continue to practice Christianity to this day. This is not a spiritual blog but some of the content that I post is influenced by my faith. Every now and then I will post Christian content as well, just not always (except with Billboard). The picture you see up above is me at the airport with my father after I graduated from AmeriCorps NCCC after 10 months of community service. In response I received a congressional award for community service. I've always been really proud of that. I was diagnosed with Asperger's (a form of Autism) around the age of 6, but I was not informed of my diagnosis until I was 12. I'm very into movies and television (animation especially), and pop culture as a whole, and I'm also very creative as I like to make up stories that either involve different movies and shows that I like crossing over or my own characters that I've created. I'm also active in music. I love singing, I hate politics, and I basically look at my life as a TV series.

Personality

I'm pretty much a loner. I literally just started being active with social media (sharing these posts) and I'm not interactive with people at all. It has nothing to do with people as a whole (at church anyway), I just don't really know what to say and I'm slightly embarrassed to talk about my life. I am a straight shooter. I don't like sugar coating things and there are times where I can be brutally honest. I will also admit that I'm the biggest pessimist you'll ever meet. I wouldn't say I'm proud of that, but sometimes it's more realistic and I hate getting my hopes up over nothing.

Why This Blog Exists

The main reason why I created this blog is because I need it. Like a lot of young adults, I struggle to find my place in the world, and I constantly worry that I should be more successful than where I am now. I have very low self esteem and I'm hoping that this blog can help me In more ways than 1. I hope it helps me cope with life's disappointments and see myself as something worthwhile.

Content-

Top 10

My main content will be Top 10 lists, which I began creating after watching a YouTube channel known as WatchMojo. The channel is basically my inspiration for most (if not all) these lists. The lists will mainly be movies, music and pop culture related; whether it be notable films, tv shows, characters, songs, music artists, and every now and then, celebrities. When the lists are posted kind of varies between once a month or less than two weeks after a previous list.

Awards Race

Every end of the year going onto the new year, I will track down the important film awards of the season and express my thoughts. Originally, I would have a target subject I'm rooting for that season (actor or movie) and speak on the subject's chances of winning every time the nominations for each award show is released. While I will still have a target subject, in addition to that, I will also speak on other movies, actors and/or directors that will most likely dominate that season.

Billboard #1 Commentary (Secular & Worship)

Every Monday, I will post a short commentary on the #1 song for the secular and worship charts on Billboard. For secular, my sources are the Hot 100Pop Airplay, and the Global 200, while my sources for worship are the Hot Christian Songs, Gospel Airplay, Christian Airplay, and Hot Gospel Songs. There will be times where I will post for one side and not the other because I've already spoken about the current #1, but I will post the name of the song and the original review. There will also be times where I don't post for Billboard at all, and sometimes it might take weeks for me to post again due to songs being #1 for an extended period of time.

Monthly Releases

Every start of the month, I will make posts on the month's biggest and most important movie releases, whether or not I will go see them, and how well it might do with the box-office and the critics.

Movie Thoughts

I do hope to become a critic, and I will be posting reviews on new movies at least a week after I see them.

Music Thoughts

Same but with music. If there's a random song that I keep hearing that doesn't manage to make it to #1 on any of my source charts, I will just go ahead and review them without Billboard.

Idol Commentary

I am a singer, and a huge fan if American Idol (for better or worse). Every year once Idol chooses their contestants for the live shows, I will speak my opinion on each contestant and rank their performances from least favorite (or worst depending on the situation) to best.

What Makes The Blog Stand Out

What makes it stand out in a way is that It has a little bit of everything. It's not super categorized, It varies on different subjects (excluding politics 😒). In a way it does have something for everybody and I'm working on being a even more versatile in terms of topics and subjects (minus politics👎🏾). Another thing that makes it stand out in terms of music is that I speak on both sides of music, secular and worship. And the intention is not to lecture anyone. Obviously, both sides are EXTREMELY different and I would like to explore both sides equally and give a perspective on them without the use of politics and personal biases (with all due respect).

Goal

I hope to pursue film criticism professionally. If the blog actually grows, hopefully I can start a podcast through Patreon. Do I believe I'll actually make it, no. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't try, It just means I'm keeping my expectations in check.

So.......The Bride😕

So I was completely off-track with The Bride . Did not expect the film to crash and burn as hard as it did with both critics AND the box-office. After getting murdered, a woman by the name of Ida is brought back to life with the intention of being a companion to the oh-so iconic Frankenstein. And together they wreck havoc. Like Wuthering Heights , the movie wasn't terrible but it had a lot of problems. The biggest issue with this film is that it tries way too hard to be edgy and it just doesn't work. It wanted to be this hardcore feminist take on Frankenstein , but it just felt convoluted and slightly underwritten. It had this plotline involving Ida causing some revolution for women and did pretty much nothing with it until the last minute. It was kind of a let down. The best thing about the movie however was the performances and chemistry between Buckley and Christian Bale. I thought they were strangely endearing, and this might be a better love story than Wuthering Heights  (...

Last Minute Music Reviews

So here are some last minute reviews of songs that I've heard over the past few months that did not reach #1;   Where Is My Husband - Raye This is incredibly fun and strangely catchy. While this is not officially a jazz song, this obviously has jazz influence and it works very well for this song. I will go ahead and admit that this is my introduction to Raya, I have not listened to Oscar Winning Tears . So far, I'm intrigued.    Midnight Sun - Zara Larsson This song is kind of AWESOME. Not only is the production GORGEOUS, but it also has a very nice hook that goes smoothly with Larsson's voice. My sister actually recommended this song to me and I see why. Larsson does currently have a Grammy nomination for this. She's gonna lose, but I'm glad this song got recognized. If my sister see's this, thank you.   How It's Done - Huntrix (From KPop Demon Hunters ) I have been meaning to review this for a while, but I kept getting lazy. Like Golden , this song has g...
