Deadpool: Marvel's Favorite Idiot

Deadpool & Wolverine was probably the most anticipated movie of the year. With Disney taking over Fox and Deadpool joining the MCU, the time has finally come for the finishing result. Wade Wilson (portrayed of course by Ryan Reynolds) is offered to be taken out of his dimension in favor of the MCU. The only problem is his dimension is in the process of disintegration after the evens of Logan (😢) and Tom Wambsgans- I mean Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen) decides to end its misery and destroy it instead of waiting for the inevitable. Obviously this doesn't sit well with Wade, so he turns to a more incompetent version of Wolverine (one deemed the "worst" Wolverine) to help save his dimension.

This movie was exactly what a Deadpool movie needs to be, stupid as HELL. Deadpool remains an idiot and his dynamic with Wolverine was very well paced. Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's chemistry was very good and surprisingly very balanced. Both characters had their fair-share of funny moments, but also had some relatable and even sad moments. For Deadpool, it's his surprisingly lack or self-worth while for Wolverine it's of course his trauma and past mistakes. They were surprisingly very poignant and effective. Emma Corrin was good, and a total psychopath. Matthew Macfadyen was basically a punching bag, which isn't super far-fetched from Succession considering he's an emotional punching bag for Shiv.

The cameos in this film were great. Seeing heroes from either forgotten or disgraced Marvel films was a real breathe of fresh air and a nice way of paying respect to even some of the worst movies for paving the way for the MCU in the first place. It was also nice to see X-23 again, and she's not a baby anymore 😭. We also had some strange cameos, most of them being different and rather bizarre versions of Deadpool.

Last but not least, the fight scenes were AWESOME, and incredibly well choreographed. There was this one scene in a car that I cannot believe they pulled off. Then again, this is Deadpool and Marvel, which is known for having ridiculously good fight scenes.

This was a good movie, and I'm relieved Marvel didn't screw this up. But considering this is rated R, don't bring your kids to see it. Thanks for reading.

Top 10 Signature Songs

You know how an artists has that one song that pretty much defines their career and who they are as an artist? This is a list of those songs. Please keep in mind that just because an artist and their song is on the list doesn’t mean I like the song or the artist (especially the artist). It just means that I acknowledge the impact and importance of the song and/or artist. One song per artist. #10: The Real Slim Shady- Eminem Technically speaking, Lose Yourself is more notable than The Real Slim Shady . But I feel like this song really set the standard on who Eminem is as an artist. He pretty much hit the jackpot when coming up with such an iconic nickname, and Eminem presents it with so much personality, style, rhythm and aggression that it just works. I'm not even sure if it could have as much of an effect on people with someone else in the track. Only Eminem could make it work. Again I have nothing against Lose Yourself , in fact I love that song more than this one. But I feel ...

I pretty much have a traditional family, which involves happily married parents, 1 younger sister, and an older brother. I was raised Christian, and I continue to practice Christianity to this day. This is not a spiritual blog but some of the content that I post is influenced by my faith. Every now and then I will post Christian content as well, just not always (except with Billboard ). The picture you see up above is me at the airport with my father after I graduated from AmeriCorps NCCC after 10 months of community service. In response I received a congressional award for community service. I've always been really proud of that. I was diagnosed with Asperger's (a form of Autism) around the age of 6, but I was not informed of my diagnosis until I was 12. I'm very into movies and television (animation especially), and pop culture as a whole, and I...
