Big Releases For July 2026

July is kind of a big month for movies. So Let's Get Started;

 Minions & Monsters- Today

I do intend on seeing this movie. And considering this is the minions we're talking about, I think it's safe to say that this is going to EXPLODE at the box-office. To my surprise, critics appear to like this film. I don't want to say I now have high hopes for this film, but I am curious now

 Young Washington- Friday

Obviously perfect timing for Independence Day. I am going to see this as well. It is currently getting lukewarm reviews, but I personally think that I am going to like it. And I'm not just saying that because it's Angel Studios (especially considering Animal Farm👎🏾). We'll see with its box-office.

 Moana- July 10

I've had enough of these crappy remakes from Disney, I'm not seeing this mess. Audiences do look annoyed with this film, however people were also annoyed with Lilo & Stitch and it was a box-office hit. I would not be surprised at all if the same happened with this. Critics however are probably going to destroy this.

 The Odyssey- July 17

The build-up to this film has been very strange. There have been numerous controversies and they have overshadowed the excitement for the movie. I'm still going to see it with my aunt. I do see this succeeding at the box-office regardless, but I'm not so sure with critics.

 Spider-Man: Brand New Day- July 31

HELL YES I am seeing this! Especially considering how much I LOVED No Way Home, even though it traumatized my sister. I'm actually not allowed to see this without my sister (according to to her). I don't want to jinx it, but this is probably to destroy the box-office. Critics on the other hand, we'll see.

Thanks For Reading

Last Minute Music Reviews

  So here are some last minute reviews of songs that I've heard over the past few months that did not reach #1;   Where Is My Husband - Raye This is incredibly fun and strangely catchy. While this is not officially a jazz song, this obviously has jazz influence and it works very well for this song. I will go ahead and admit that this is my introduction to Raya, I have not listened to Oscar Winning Tears . So far, I'm intrigued.    Midnight Sun - Zara Larsson This song is kind of AWESOME. Not only is the production GORGEOUS, but it also has a very nice hook that goes smoothly with Larsson's voice. My sister actually recommended this song to me and I see why. Larsson does currently have a Grammy nomination for this. She's gonna lose, but I'm glad this song got recognized. If my sister see's this, thank you.   How It's Done - Huntrix (From KPop Demon Hunters ) I have been meaning to review this for a while, but I kept getting lazy. Like Golden , this song has g...

So.......The Bride😕

So I was completely off-track with The Bride . Did not expect the film to crash and burn as hard as it did with both critics AND the box-office. After getting murdered, a woman by the name of Ida is brought back to life with the intention of being a companion to the oh-so iconic Frankenstein. And together they wreck havoc. Like Wuthering Heights , the movie wasn't terrible but it had a lot of problems. The biggest issue with this film is that it tries way too hard to be edgy and it just doesn't work. It wanted to be this hardcore feminist take on Frankenstein , but it just felt convoluted and slightly underwritten. It had this plotline involving Ida causing some revolution for women and did pretty much nothing with it until the last minute. It was kind of a let down. The best thing about the movie however was the performances and chemistry between Buckley and Christian Bale. I thought they were strangely endearing, and this might be a better love story than Wuthering Heights  (...
