So while I decided to pass on Discloser Day, I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to give The Furious a shot. A mute father is ready to fight somebody when his daughter is kidnapped by human traffickers (perfect timing for Father's Day). Along the way, he teams up with a journalist who's wife went missing after trying rescue another victim.
This movie was INSANE and Awesome! The story and protagonist were very easy to root for and it even had some nice writing moments as well. I hope this doesn't sound like too much of a spoiler but the conflict was resolved almost halfway through the movie in the most epic way possible. I was worried about that move at first, but the film also knew how to keep you entertained and at the edge of your seat every single second. Though the movie did have its tenderhearted and sweet moments as well.
And yes those fight scenes were incredible. They were extremely well choregraphed and very brutal to watch. We kept hearing bones cracking and it was so unnerving😣. And every time I thought they got a little long-winded, something INSANE happened. Whether it's the characters fighting with unusual objects, or a plot revelation (another thing I liked about the writing). It was glorious.
Pretty much all the characters were either likable, memorable, or crazy. Wei and Navin were super easy to like and root for, there was even a cute little fighting moment involving Wei and his daughter. Ho was terrifying and there was something very wrong with Paklung😕.
Great movie, highly recommended. Thanks For Reading.
