I did not expect much from Hoppers. I didn't expect it to be bad, but I was not sure that it would be good either. With that being said, the critic's reaction as well as the audience's genuinely surprised me. The film centers on Mabel, a college student going through Hell and high water to save her grandma's reserve to the point where she has her brain transferred into a robotic beaver in an effort to speak to the animals.
Yes, Hoppers was actually pretty good. It did have an agenda, but it wasn't toxic about it. The movie was genuinely funny, the voice acting was strong, the animation was well done, and it even had some heart-warming moments. The worst thing about the movie is that the villain is not super strong. But even with that, Dave Franco (whom I didn't even realize was the voice actor until the movie was over) made up for it with his EXTREMELY unhinged performance. He in my humble opinion did the best job out of everyone in this film.
That's pretty much all I need to say about Hoppers, It was a very nice film and a HUGE step up from Elio (again, not bad, just lackluster). Thanks For Reading
