Regina George Gone Cuckoo

So I did mention in my "Releases For January" post that I was slightly conflicted on whether or not I wanted to see this movie. Obviously judging by this review, I went ahead and saw it. Send Help centers on Linda Liddle, a submissive strategist who finds herself stuck on a deserted island with her douchebag boss.

The movie was insane in the best way. Not only was it very thrilling, but It was also self-aware.  The film did not take itself too seriously, it knows it's campy and it knows it's silly. Rachel McAdams was lovably unhinged in this and her dynamic with Dylan O'Brien (who was an absolute JERK in this) was very well done. One thing I really liked about their dynamic is that it was NOT a haters-to-lovers story. It would've been easy for the film to go that route, but instead this shows what we all would like to do to a horrible boss. O'Brien was basically forced to treat McAdams with respect and it was very well deserved. His downfall was very satisfying while her uprising felt earned. Neither of their arcs felt forced, they were both natural.

The action, thrills and scares of this film were also good. They were well paced and very suspenseful. This movie also got extremely gross at times. There were some gross-out moments that were over-the-top, but not to the point were it damaged the movie. I've heard complaints about the ending, though I personally did not take issue with the film's resolution.

But yeah I liked Send Help. Highly recommend it. Thanks For Reading

Last Minute Music Reviews

So here are some last minute reviews of songs that I've heard over the past few months that did not reach #1;   Where Is My Husband - Raye This is incredibly fun and strangely catchy. While this is not officially a jazz song, this obviously has jazz influence and it works very well for this song. I will go ahead and admit that this is my introduction to Raya, I have not listened to Oscar Winning Tears . So far, I'm intrigued.    Midnight Sun - Zara Larsson This song is kind of AWESOME. Not only is the production GORGEOUS, but it also has a very nice hook that goes smoothly with Larsson's voice. My sister actually recommended this song to me and I see why. Larsson does currently have a Grammy nomination for this. She's gonna lose, but I'm glad this song got recognized. If my sister see's this, thank you.   How It's Done - Huntrix (From KPop Demon Hunters ) I have been meaning to review this for a while, but I kept getting lazy. Like Golden , this song has g...

What The Hell Did I Even Watch!?!🤣

I think ever since Lady Gaga's performance in A Star Is Born , musicians have been trying to jump in on the band wagon. The Weekend is one of those musicians who's trying, and failing miserably. First he tried with The Idol , and we all saw how that crashed and burned. And now he decided to turn his newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow into a movie, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself. Oh yeah, Jenna Ortega and  Barry Keoghan are in this too.  The Weekend is obviously on this vendetta to prove to people that he can act, and it's getting kind of pathetic. The movie is just.....not good.  There's barely even a plot, it's just an elongated music video that involves The Weekend crying too much. Now, I will give him some credit for actually trying this time (unlike in The Idol ). But unfortunately, instead of coming off as a troubled musician, this felt like I was watching one of the 3-5 year-olds my mom deals with at her job. I'm aware that this movie was in...
