SUPREME INDEED!!!!!!!!

Ironically, the last film I watched in 2024 was A Complete Unknown. My last film for this year is Marty Supreme, both obviously involving Timothee Chalamet. Loosely based on the life of  Marty Reisman, our protagonist here is an overambitious ping-pong player, hustler, and a piece of work. He and his BIG MOUTH tries to sweet talk his way to the top, and he overdoes it........HARD!

I was slightly under the impression that the film was overhyped; it wasn't, this movie was AWESOME! Every time I was so sure that it would lose its spark, something insane happens. There was either a twist or a new problem around every corner. This might feel fast-paced to some people, but it was cinema GOLD for me. Given there's a lot going on, this movie should've been all over the place. I don't mean to be rude but Benny Safdie might need to take notes from his brother (who directed this movie).

Marty himself (the character, I don't know about the person) is kind of a jerk. And while he's a talented ping-pong player, his showmanship combined with his overambition equals an arrogant trainwreck of a person, the dude even smack-talked his mother. He's too narrowminded to know when to quit while he's ahead. He also said an insult that was so ugly that I'm not even sure if the phrase "burn" would be suitable. He needed a slice of humble pie. But when he finally gets it, its in the most degrading way possible and you will feel AWFUL for him. Because it makes you ask whether or not everything he's trying to achieve is actually worth it. Good Lord I Love This MOVIE!

And yes, Chalamet did a REALLY good job. I wanted to slap him, but I was also rooting for him. Odessa A'zion and Kevin O'Leary were also standouts (the latter whom I also wanted to slap). Even Gwyneth Paltrow and Tyler The Creator were decent in this, and I dislike them both. GO SEE THIS MOVIE! PLEASE GO SEE IT! I Saw It TWICE! No Regrets.

2025 movies lists will be coming after New Years. Thanks For Reading

Last Minute Music Reviews

So here are some last minute reviews of songs that I've heard over the past few months that did not reach #1;   Where Is My Husband - Raye This is incredibly fun and strangely catchy. While this is not officially a jazz song, this obviously has jazz influence and it works very well for this song. I will go ahead and admit that this is my introduction to Raya, I have not listened to Oscar Winning Tears . So far, I'm intrigued.    Midnight Sun - Zara Larsson This song is kind of AWESOME. Not only is the production GORGEOUS, but it also has a very nice hook that goes smoothly with Larsson's voice. My sister actually recommended this song to me and I see why. Larsson does currently have a Grammy nomination for this. She's gonna lose, but I'm glad this song got recognized. If my sister see's this, thank you.   How It's Done - Huntrix (From KPop Demon Hunters ) I have been meaning to review this for a while, but I kept getting lazy. Like Golden , this song has g...

What The Hell Did I Even Watch!?!🤣

I think ever since Lady Gaga's performance in A Star Is Born , musicians have been trying to jump in on the band wagon. The Weekend is one of those musicians who's trying, and failing miserably. First he tried with The Idol , and we all saw how that crashed and burned. And now he decided to turn his newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow into a movie, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself. Oh yeah, Jenna Ortega and  Barry Keoghan are in this too.  The Weekend is obviously on this vendetta to prove to people that he can act, and it's getting kind of pathetic. The movie is just.....not good.  There's barely even a plot, it's just an elongated music video that involves The Weekend crying too much. Now, I will give him some credit for actually trying this time (unlike in The Idol ). But unfortunately, instead of coming off as a troubled musician, this felt like I was watching one of the 3-5 year-olds my mom deals with at her job. I'm aware that this movie was in...
