Here we have yet another Stephen King adaptation for the year. This is also one of 2 adaptations of this novel as well. Glen Powel makes the horrible mistake of participating in a game show where he is being hunted. He has to stay alive for 30 days in order to win 1 billon dollars, which he hopes to use on his sick daughter and struggling wife.
I wasn't terribly amazed with the movie, but I was entertained. The stunts were obviously the biggest strongpoint of the film and to my surprise the performances were relatively strong. Powel managed to be both serious and charming, and his character was very easy to root for. And no, it's not simply because Powel is attractive (though that helps), but because everything he does is for his family. Also, you do not want to piss him off in this. I wanted to punch Thanos in the face almost the entire time, and Colman Domingo was Colman Domingo.
I've never seen the original nor do I care enough to see the original. But overall, I was fine with this movie. Thanks for reading.
