Sarah's Oil & The Lost Bus

I bring to you another double review; let's start with Sarah's Oil. Staring Zachery Levi, Sarah's Oil is a biographical film centered on the pre-teenaged Sarah Rector's battle to drill oil from her land with a little bit of help from Levi. Then we have The Lost Bus, which involves Matthew McConaughey transferring a bus with America Ferrera and 22 kids to safety in the mist of a wildfire gone bad.

Sarah's Oil

I was actually disappointed with Sarah's Oil. What disappointed me about it was that the film was marketed as a faith-based movie when the finishing product obviously wasn't. It was a race movie at its core and it should've been marketed as that. You can't just stick a random gospel song and a small insignificant prayer on certain scenes and call it a faith-based movie. The spirituality in this was fake. On the flip side, I liked Zachery Levi.

The Lost Bus

Now this movie I liked. Not only was the acting solid, but the movie had my heart pounding a good majority of the time. This movie was a true thrill ride and I was so scared for these people. This being based on a true story definitely added to my fear. You will also feel horrible for Matthew McConaughey as he's trying so hard to do right by his family but always comes up short. Loved this movie, would watch it again.

In typical 'me' fashion, I will rank each performance to #1. But unlike my normal lists, this will be from worst to best.  This will be starting the following week as today is just an introduction. Our Top 24 has been chosen and they are as follows;     Canaan James Hill (Platinum)             Gabby Simone  Zaylie Windsor                         Mattie Pruitt  Thunderstorm Artis                  Drew Ryn  Che                                     ...

Introduction

Bio My name is Naomi Marie Elidios Chadwick. I was born in San Diego, California, but I currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I pretty much have a traditional family, which involves happily married parents, 1 younger sister, and an older brother. I was raised Christian, and I continue to practice Christianity to this day. This is not a spiritual blog but some of the content that I post is influenced by my faith. Every now and then I will post Christian content as well, just not always (except with Billboard ). The picture you see up above is me at the airport with my father after I graduated from AmeriCorps NCCC after 10 months of community service. In response I received a congressional award for community service. I've always been really proud of that. I was diagnosed with Asperger's (a form of Autism) around the age of 6, but I was not informed of my diagnosis until I was 12. I'm very into movies and television (animation especially), and pop culture as a whole, and I...

My Top 10 Best Movies Of 2024 (Part 2)

So, now it’s time for the best list. This is obviously a list of what is in my opinion, the best movies of 2024. Before anything else, just a quick reminder that I have chosen not to review or rank the films  Mary  &  Dune: Part Two   due to my conflicting feelings on them. So you won’t see either of those 2 on this list. If you would like an explanation for 1 or both movies, there are 2 links down below. If there’s an acclaimed movie you were expecting to see on this list that you didn’t see, check out my “Movies You Won’t See” post through the link down below.  #10:  The Bikeriders God-honest truth, the main reason I saw this movie is because of my soft spot for Austin Butler. Though definitely not the strongest movie, this was really good. Its strong points were the performances and the twists. While Austin wasn’t THE standout, he did do a really good job and truly embraced his inner James Dean. The standout however was indeed Tom Ha...
