Bruce Springsteen's Oscar Bait Biopic

Here we have yet another unnecessary music biopic. This time, It is Bruce Springsteen who tells us his life story, particularly the production of his sixth album Nebraska and his struggles with depression. Attach current "it" boy Jeremey Allen White to the picture as the lead, and you got yourself some Oscar bait.

The movie is nothing special. Like A Complete Unknown, it did a fine job at showing its interpretation of Springsteen's life. Strangely, this had in my opinion better direction than The Smashing Machine because it actually had some type of an idea of what aspect of Springsteen's life it wants to focus on. White did fine, I've never really seen him do a bad performance. Him and Strong (he'll always be Kendall Roy to me) were probably the best thing about the movie, their chemistry was really sweet.

As for the negatives; what was the point of Faye's character? She is not even a real person and it is to my understanding that Springsteen himself is married. Yes he was not married at the time of Nebraska's production and release, but it would make more since to me to completely scrap the romance storyline all together as it adds nothing to Springsteen's story. With all due respect to the actress, she did not need to be there.

The movie is passable at best. Thanks For Reading.

Last Minute Music Reviews

So here are some last minute reviews of songs that I've heard over the past few months that did not reach #1;   Where Is My Husband - Raye This is incredibly fun and strangely catchy. While this is not officially a jazz song, this obviously has jazz influence and it works very well for this song. I will go ahead and admit that this is my introduction to Raya, I have not listened to Oscar Winning Tears . So far, I'm intrigued.    Midnight Sun - Zara Larsson This song is kind of AWESOME. Not only is the production GORGEOUS, but it also has a very nice hook that goes smoothly with Larsson's voice. My sister actually recommended this song to me and I see why. Larsson does currently have a Grammy nomination for this. She's gonna lose, but I'm glad this song got recognized. If my sister see's this, thank you.   How It's Done - Huntrix (From KPop Demon Hunters ) I have been meaning to review this for a while, but I kept getting lazy. Like Golden , this song has g...

What The Hell Did I Even Watch!?!🤣

I think ever since Lady Gaga's performance in A Star Is Born , musicians have been trying to jump in on the band wagon. The Weekend is one of those musicians who's trying, and failing miserably. First he tried with The Idol , and we all saw how that crashed and burned. And now he decided to turn his newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow into a movie, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself. Oh yeah, Jenna Ortega and  Barry Keoghan are in this too.  The Weekend is obviously on this vendetta to prove to people that he can act, and it's getting kind of pathetic. The movie is just.....not good.  There's barely even a plot, it's just an elongated music video that involves The Weekend crying too much. Now, I will give him some credit for actually trying this time (unlike in The Idol ). But unfortunately, instead of coming off as a troubled musician, this felt like I was watching one of the 3-5 year-olds my mom deals with at her job. I'm aware that this movie was in...
