Hocus Pocus For Adults

So yeah I initially passed on this movie when it was first released due to my cautious nature towards horror movies. The reason I changed my mind was because I had made the decision to skip One Battle After Another. Basically an adult version of Hocus Pocus, a group of kids from the same class (which includes Thanos' son) go missing in the middle of the night, with only one child remaining. As the teacher, unfortunately Julia Garner is taking the heat for it.

This is probably the most well-written movie I've seen this year. There's not really a protagonist in this film and the story is shown from the perspectives of different people, and this should've been convoluted but it came together beautifully. I can't imagine that being easy to write, so I really applaud the Mr. Cregger (who's also the director) for his work.

One thing I've noticed as I watch more horror movies is that the quiet and subtle ones are the most effective and scary. Alien is a really good example of that (Quiet Place probably is too, but I haven't seen those movies yet). The scares in this movie were FANTASTIC. The movie knew just the right time to attack, it was very wise with its scares. Aunt Gladys is the stuff of nightmares, worse than the Sanderson Sisters combined.

Lastly, this movie does have its gory and intense moments. This unsurprisingly also adds to the scares. Several intense moments actually did not involve scares or gory, which gives the movie some variety as well.

To sum it all up, this movie was amazing. Thanks For Watching.

American Idol 2025 Thoughts: Day 1

American Idol  has officially reached its live shows so that means it's time to start the commentaries. For those of you who didn't track these last year, here's an explanation; I will be saying my thoughts on the contestants and their performances. In typical 'me' fashion, I will rank each performance to #1. But unlike my normal lists, this will be from worst to best.  This will be starting the following week as today is just an introduction. Our Top 24 has been chosen and they are as follows;     Canaan James Hill (Platinum)             Gabby Simone  Zaylie Windsor                         Mattie Pruitt  Thunderstorm Artis                  Drew Ryn  Che                                     ...

Introduction

Bio My name is Naomi Marie Elidios Chadwick. I was born in San Diego, California, but I currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I pretty much have a traditional family, which involves happily married parents, 1 younger sister, and an older brother. I was raised Christian, and I continue to practice Christianity to this day. This is not a spiritual blog but some of the content that I post is influenced by my faith. Every now and then I will post Christian content as well, just not always (except with Billboard ). The picture you see up above is me at the airport with my father after I graduated from AmeriCorps NCCC after 10 months of community service. In response I received a congressional award for community service. I've always been really proud of that. I was diagnosed with Asperger's (a form of Autism) around the age of 6, but I was not informed of my diagnosis until I was 12. I'm very into movies and television (animation especially), and pop culture as a whole, and I...

What The Hell Did I Even Watch!?!🤣

I think ever since Lady Gaga's performance in A Star Is Born , musicians have been trying to jump in on the band wagon. The Weekend is one of those musicians who's trying, and failing miserably. First he tried with The Idol , and we all saw how that crashed and burned. And now he decided to turn his newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow into a movie, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself. Oh yeah, Jenna Ortega and  Barry Keoghan are in this too.  The Weekend is obviously on this vendetta to prove to people that he can act, and it's getting kind of pathetic. The movie is just.....not good.  There's barely even a plot, it's just an elongated music video that involves The Weekend crying too much. Now, I will give him some credit for actually trying this time (unlike in The Idol ). But unfortunately, instead of coming off as a troubled musician, this felt like I was watching one of the 3-5 year-olds my mom deals with at her job. I'm aware that this movie was in...
