I've never seen Police Squad or any of the original Naked Gun movies. This is pretty much my introduction to the series. The film stars Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson (clearly high off her Last Showgirl acclaim). Neeson portrays Leslie Nielsen's son, who tries to find the source of Pamela Anderson's brother's death.
This movie was so stupid, in a good way. The best thing about the movie is that it is EXTREMELY self-aware of its own stupidity. It does not take itself seriously at all and I love that. Nesson and Anderson were hilarious and had great chemistry from start to finish. I also appreciate that the movie did not try too hard to be modern. I'm obviously not the best person to talk considering this is my introduction to The Naked Gun, but the movie as a whole was just pure comedy and did not walk on eggshells in caution of being offensive (well accept with one joke, but that could've been a whole lot worse), nor did it disrespect the originals for being older and supposedly outdated. The film somewhat had a nice little tribute to Nielson. The movie was just silly and fun, I really appreciated that.
This is definitely not the smartest movie I've seen, but that makes it even better. Thanks For Reading
