Big Releases For August 2025

What does August have in store for us this year;

 The Bad Guys 2- Today

I still need to watch the first one, but I do intend on seeing this film. I've heard good things about the first one, so hopefully I won't be disappointed with either of the movies. Critics are speaking highly of this and I see this drawing families to the theatres.

 The Naked Gun- Today

This looks ridiculous, but in a good way. This has already won over critics. In terms of audiences, I see this at least doing decently at the box-office but not amazing. I also do not know if I want to see this yet. We'll see.

 Freakier Friday- August 8

We did not need another Freaky Friday (despite LOVING the first one), but I'm going to see this anyway. Though I'm sure it's gonna be ridiculous. I do not see critics praising this. Not that I see them completely trolling this, but the film looks slightly too ridiculous to be considered quality. Glad to see Lindsay Lohan doing well.

 Weapons- August 8

I would've gladly seen this if it wasn't religious horror. Obviously that's a HUGE no-no for me, so for now this movie is off limits. With that being said, critics are eating this up. I will let the box-office speak for itself. Also, Julia Garner is kicking butt this year.

 Nobody 2- August 15

Did not see the first one, don't care enough to see this one. It's possible for this to have at least a decent box-office due to people liking the first one, but you never really know. This could either continue the critical approval from the first one, or suffer a similar fate to M3GAN 2.0.

Last Minute Music Reviews

  So here are some last minute reviews of songs that I've heard over the past few months that did not reach #1;   Where Is My Husband - Raye This is incredibly fun and strangely catchy. While this is not officially a jazz song, this obviously has jazz influence and it works very well for this song. I will go ahead and admit that this is my introduction to Raya, I have not listened to Oscar Winning Tears . So far, I'm intrigued.    Midnight Sun - Zara Larsson This song is kind of AWESOME. Not only is the production GORGEOUS, but it also has a very nice hook that goes smoothly with Larsson's voice. My sister actually recommended this song to me and I see why. Larsson does currently have a Grammy nomination for this. She's gonna lose, but I'm glad this song got recognized. If my sister see's this, thank you.   How It's Done - Huntrix (From KPop Demon Hunters ) I have been meaning to review this for a while, but I kept getting lazy. Like Golden , this song has g...

What The Hell Did I Even Watch!?!🤣

I think ever since Lady Gaga's performance in A Star Is Born , musicians have been trying to jump in on the band wagon. The Weekend is one of those musicians who's trying, and failing miserably. First he tried with The Idol , and we all saw how that crashed and burned. And now he decided to turn his newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow into a movie, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself. Oh yeah, Jenna Ortega and  Barry Keoghan are in this too.  The Weekend is obviously on this vendetta to prove to people that he can act, and it's getting kind of pathetic. The movie is just.....not good.  There's barely even a plot, it's just an elongated music video that involves The Weekend crying too much. Now, I will give him some credit for actually trying this time (unlike in The Idol ). But unfortunately, instead of coming off as a troubled musician, this felt like I was watching one of the 3-5 year-olds my mom deals with at her job. I'm aware that this movie was in...
