We really didn't need another Jurassic movie giving how poorly received the last two were. This group of I guess scientists travel to a forbidden area to find certain dinosaur samples. They also run into this family, of course get attacked by dinosaurs, and that's pretty much the entire movie.
The movie wasn't entirely the worst thing in the world, it does have its strongpoints. The dinosaur attacks were thrilling and intense. They were probably the best thing about the movie along with its visuals. The problem is the characters were undeveloped and unmemorable. Scarlett Johansson did the best she could, but it wasn't enough for me to care about her character. The Delgados (and the boyfriend) did not need to be there. I felt like they were just in the way and had little to no value to the plot. The villain was very underwhelming. He barely did anything aside from attempted murder, was barely even confronted on it, and that was it. And the movie did absolutely nothing with the opening sequence or the settling. The opening sequence was just there, and that was it, there was little to no effort to elevate that scene or the reasons as to why it happened and why the area was cautioned in the first place.
The movie is not terrible, but it's not good either. Thanks For Reading.
