Ballerina Review

So Ballerina is obviously a spinoff of the John Wick franchise and pretty much what Trigger Warning was trying to be but failed miserably. Starring Ana de Armas as the title character, the movie centers on a ballet dancer (and assassin) seeking vengeance for her father. She does eventually encounter the Baba Yaga himself.

I liked it. Like Mission Impossible, it did what it needed to do. It provided lots of action and thrills, and thankfully our protagonist wasn't an unlikable jerk. That was my biggest worry about the film, I assumed they would make her better than John Wick simply for being a girl. But the movie still managed to make a skilled female protagonist without disrespecting Wick himself. Eve is a BOSS female character done correctly without over-doing it, and I really appreciate that.

The fight scenes were amazing. Some of them were EXTREMELY creative, which is something the John Wick franchise is known for. This thankfully did not hold back. This movie also somewhat highlighted fathers, which I also really appreciated (also considering it's almost Father's Day, perfect timing).

My only flaw with the movie is that there was a certain character they could've expanded just a little bit more. But honestly, it could've been a whole lot worse. This movie isn't amazing, but I do approve. And more importantly my aunt approves. Thanks For Reading.

Last Minute Music Reviews

So here are some last minute reviews of songs that I've heard over the past few months that did not reach #1;   Where Is My Husband - Raye This is incredibly fun and strangely catchy. While this is not officially a jazz song, this obviously has jazz influence and it works very well for this song. I will go ahead and admit that this is my introduction to Raya, I have not listened to Oscar Winning Tears . So far, I'm intrigued.    Midnight Sun - Zara Larsson This song is kind of AWESOME. Not only is the production GORGEOUS, but it also has a very nice hook that goes smoothly with Larsson's voice. My sister actually recommended this song to me and I see why. Larsson does currently have a Grammy nomination for this. She's gonna lose, but I'm glad this song got recognized. If my sister see's this, thank you.   How It's Done - Huntrix (From KPop Demon Hunters ) I have been meaning to review this for a while, but I kept getting lazy. Like Golden , this song has g...

What The Hell Did I Even Watch!?!🤣

I think ever since Lady Gaga's performance in A Star Is Born , musicians have been trying to jump in on the band wagon. The Weekend is one of those musicians who's trying, and failing miserably. First he tried with The Idol , and we all saw how that crashed and burned. And now he decided to turn his newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow into a movie, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself. Oh yeah, Jenna Ortega and  Barry Keoghan are in this too.  The Weekend is obviously on this vendetta to prove to people that he can act, and it's getting kind of pathetic. The movie is just.....not good.  There's barely even a plot, it's just an elongated music video that involves The Weekend crying too much. Now, I will give him some credit for actually trying this time (unlike in The Idol ). But unfortunately, instead of coming off as a troubled musician, this felt like I was watching one of the 3-5 year-olds my mom deals with at her job. I'm aware that this movie was in...
