American Idol 2025 Day 9: Disney Night & Mother's Day

Last night marked the beginning of the end in my opinion. The contestants did 2 songs, one Disney song under the mentorship of one of my favorite composers Lin Manuel-Miranda, and one song in honor of their mothers for obvious reasons.

We lost another 2 people and they are as follows;

Mattie Pruitt- not surprised, she almost went home last week
Gabby Samone- bummer

Okay Let's Rank.

Disney Night;

#5: John Foster

Almost There From The Princess & The Frog
Not the greatest but captured the spirit of the song

#4: Slater Nalley

Can You Feel The Love Tonight From The Lion King
He was fine, that's it

#3: Breanna Nix

Reflection From Mulan
She was good, but there were certain notes she didn't elevate

#2: Thunderstorm Artis

Colors Of The Wind From Pocahontas
His highest placement

Best Performance: Jamal Roberts

Go The Distance From Hercules
Again

Mother's Day;

#5: Thunderstorm Artis

Out Of The Blue- Original
Song choice, not my favorite

#4: Slater Nalley

Don't Think Twice, It's Alright- Bob Dylan
Again he was fine, that's it

#3: John Foster

Believe- Brooks & Dunn
For some reason he almost made me cry

#2: Breanna Nix

Like My Mother Does- Lauren Alaina
Probably one of her best performances

Best Performance: Jamal Roberts

A Change Is Gonna Come- Sam Cooke
Your mama would be proud

Another 2 people will be sent home tonight. It's getting down to the wire and I'm kind of scared😬. Thanks For Reading

Last Minute Music Reviews

  So here are some last minute reviews of songs that I've heard over the past few months that did not reach #1;   Where Is My Husband - Raye This is incredibly fun and strangely catchy. While this is not officially a jazz song, this obviously has jazz influence and it works very well for this song. I will go ahead and admit that this is my introduction to Raya, I have not listened to Oscar Winning Tears . So far, I'm intrigued.    Midnight Sun - Zara Larsson This song is kind of AWESOME. Not only is the production GORGEOUS, but it also has a very nice hook that goes smoothly with Larsson's voice. My sister actually recommended this song to me and I see why. Larsson does currently have a Grammy nomination for this. She's gonna lose, but I'm glad this song got recognized. If my sister see's this, thank you.   How It's Done - Huntrix (From KPop Demon Hunters ) I have been meaning to review this for a while, but I kept getting lazy. Like Golden , this song has g...

What The Hell Did I Even Watch!?!🤣

I think ever since Lady Gaga's performance in A Star Is Born , musicians have been trying to jump in on the band wagon. The Weekend is one of those musicians who's trying, and failing miserably. First he tried with The Idol , and we all saw how that crashed and burned. And now he decided to turn his newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow into a movie, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself. Oh yeah, Jenna Ortega and  Barry Keoghan are in this too.  The Weekend is obviously on this vendetta to prove to people that he can act, and it's getting kind of pathetic. The movie is just.....not good.  There's barely even a plot, it's just an elongated music video that involves The Weekend crying too much. Now, I will give him some credit for actually trying this time (unlike in The Idol ). But unfortunately, instead of coming off as a troubled musician, this felt like I was watching one of the 3-5 year-olds my mom deals with at her job. I'm aware that this movie was in...
