Drop centers on a domestic abuse victim and single mother who goes on her first date since her monster of a husband's death. Throughout the date she receives these "drop" messages, ordering her to kill her date at the cost of her son's life. Now she has to figure out who is sending these messages and why.
What surprised me the most about Drop was that it was more quiet than expected, and that was pretty much what made the movie work. The deeper we got into the movie, the more you could feel the tension and anxiety. Every time our protagonist thought she had the upper hand, the mystery antagonist was always one step ahead and it was INTENSE.
The acting was very good, with Meghann Fahy and Reed Diamond probably the best out of everyone. Fahy was a very likeable protagonist. They didn't make her a "justifiable" girl-boss jerk, just a woman trying to move on from her traumatic past and properly grow from her experience. I also liked the chemistry between her and Sklenar. It was casual yet real, and relatively sweet. Diamond did a good job, but that's as far as I'll go as speaking on his character does involve spoilers.
So yeah, I liked Drop. Not what I expected, but that made it even better. Thanks For Reading.
