Early Billboard

 


So because tomorrow marks the start of the awards season, I'm doing Billboard a day early;



 Squabble Up- Kendrick Lamar

It's no Not Like Us, but it has a nice hook. But that's not much of a surprise considering Lamar's always been good with hooks. Personally, I don't particularly care for this. My mind could possibly change as it did with Not Like Us (I'll explain in my Best Of list next month), but right now the song is just meh. But that doesn't downplay the song in any way, It's just not my favorite.


 Church Doors- Yolanda Adams

I guess the song is fine. But here's the thing; I grew up listening to Yolanda Adams and she's done better than this. Even in terms of her vocal performance, she's done better (this woman can SANG her butt off). I'm not saying I expected her to knock it out of the park, it's just that at the same time, this is lackluster in comparison to her older work. If others feel differently, that's fine. But I'm very picky and for me this song just doesn't cut it.

Introduction

Bio My name is Naomi Marie Elidios Chadwick. I was born in San Diego, California, but I currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I pretty much have a traditional family, which involves happily married parents, 1 younger sister, and an older brother. I was raised Christian, and I continue to practice Christianity to this day. What The Hell Did I Even Watch!?!🤣

I think ever since Lady Gaga's performance in A Star Is Born , musicians have been trying to jump in on the band wagon. The Weekend is one of those musicians who's trying, and failing miserably. First he tried with The Idol , and we all saw how that crashed and burned. And now he decided to turn his newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow into a movie, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself. Oh yeah, Jenna Ortega and  Barry Keoghan are in this too.  The Weekend is obviously on this vendetta to prove to people that he can act, and it's getting kind of pathetic. The movie is just.....not good.  There's barely even a plot, it's just an elongated music video that involves The Weekend crying too much. Now, I will give him some credit for actually trying this time (unlike in The Idol ). But unfortunately, instead of coming off as a troubled musician, this felt like I was watching one of the 3-5 year-olds my mom deals with at her job. I'm aware that this movie was in...
