Ranking Ariana Grande Albums

God-honest truth, I don’t like Ariana Grande, at all. I won’t deny she’s talented, but as a person she might be one of my least favorite on the planet. But I would be lying if I said I don’t listen to a good majority of her music. And with a certain Wizard Of Oz -themed movie coming out soon, I figured now would be a good time to rank all 7 of her albums. Let’s get started.

#7: Eternal Sunshine

This is obviously the most recent album on this list as it just came out in March of this year. So to be honest it’s kind of unfair to judge it now as well as put it this low on the list. But I have to put it somewhere. It’s also this low because two of its main songs, being We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love) and Yes, And, are in my opinion bland in comparison to other songs in Grande’s library. To me with the exception of Worship music (and some other exceptions), the lyrics don't matter to me as long as I like the melody. The message just gives the song an advantage. But I just can’t bring myself to connect with the melodies for these songs. That doesn’t mean the album is bad, it just means it’s not for me.

#6: Positions

If I could, I would’ve put this album lower than Eternal Sunshine, but again I don’t really think that’s fair. To be completely honest, I don’t really have a lot to say about this album. To me there’s not much to it. Now, this could just be me not being a fan of Grande and obviously hardcore fans of her my look at this album differently. But personally I am not a huge fan of this album. Again, like the last one it doesn’t mean it’s a bad album. It’s not really fair for me to call this bad due to personal bias (not to mention, I know the album just barely). But at the same time, I can’t rank it any higher either. This is the best I can do with this one. At the end of the day, this is my list and is the way it is.

#5: Sweetener

If you read this blog often, it will most likely come as no surprise that I have issues with the song God Is A Woman. With that being said (and I know I sound like a broken record), It’s not really fair for me to give this album a low ranking due to personal bias (or in this case personal vendetta). Also, I LOVE Not Tears Left To Cry and I like Breathin even though I feel it could’ve pushed just a little bit harder with the chorus. But going back to No Tears Left To Cry, that song is probably one of her best to date. So I hope I ranked this as fairly as possible without contradicting my beliefs or approaching this unprofessionally, but this is relatively hard to do considering Grande only has 7 albums. But yeah, Sweetener is #5.

#4: Thank You, Next

Now I think a majority of Arianators and music critics would rank this at #1 due to the lyrical sources (Manchester attack, Mac Miller’s death, etc.). I personally am not a huge fan of the titular song, but I won’t deny that the lyrics are fantastic and probably Grande’s best work to date. The sweet little reference to Mac Miller was very poignant and probably my favorite part of the song. I do have somewhat of a soft spot for 7 Rings (mainly because I love My Favorite Things), and for some strange reason I find Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored hilarious. Albeit messy but hilarious. I don’t hold this album in high regard as much as others, but I do understand why it is, so take this with a grain of salt.

#3: Yours Truly

Obviously this is the album that started it all for Grande. I remember when this came out, I genuinely could not believe that the idiot from Victorious was actually making a name for herself, and I still can’t believe it to this day.  Pretty much all the singles from this album are great. Right There is pretty much my favorite and the most nostalgic for me. Baby I is incredibly fun and infectious, and The Way is great but also bittersweet for obvious reasons. I was also caught off-guard by Grande channeling her inner Mariah Carey. I can say what I want about Grande, but I will never deny that the girl can SANG! This album serves as a great debut for Grande and a heads up for the years to come.

#2: Dangerous Woman

Something about this album makes me feel like a “Dangerous Woman”. Jokes and references aside, Dangerous Woman has quite a few bops. I think Side To Side is easily its biggest song, and probably the catchiest as well. While the title track is good, my favorite song from the album and one of my favorite Grande songs period (which is also relatively underrated) is Into You. The production is kind of amazing and the song itself is so dang catchy. As much as I like Side To Side and the title track, I don’t connect to them on a level similar to Into You, hence the reason why this album is only runner-up on this list. But that doesn’t take away from Dangerous Woman in any way, shape, or form.

#1: My Everything

While Dangerous Woman has a few bops, My Everything has even more. This includes pretty much all of its singles. Problem is a major bop, Bang Bang was probably the biggest collaboration of that year, and Break Free is simply AWESOME! One Last Time is a great song, but once again it’s also bittersweet for obvious reasons. The best song on the album and my favorite Grande song period is Love Me Harder. It may be inappropriate, but The Weekend and Grande’s vocals work very well together and the melody is gorgeous. My Everything just has too many great songs for me to not give it the top spot. Again, Grande’s not my favorite, but I won’t deny that these are some good songs.

Discombobulated But Good

I've always had an odd relationship with The Color Purple . I don't care enough to read the book, and some family of mine participated in a community production of the Broadway musical. I do like the original movie, but it's also EXTREMELY annoying due to some of it's subject matters. I saw the remake yesterday, and it of course centers on Celie Harris-Johnson and the struggles she's had throughout her life. The movie is all over the place in terms of it's writing, pacing, and it's music (and considering this was directed by the same idiot behind Black Is King,  I am not surprised). Don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible. But there were times in the movie where I wanted more but got less, and in the times I wanted less, I got more than I would like. A lot of songs from the musical were cut in favor of new songs that weren't so great. The songs from the musical that stayed in the movie were arranged horribly. I also felt that the plot moved pret

Deadpool: Marvel's Favorite Idiot

Deadpool & Wolverine was probably the most anticipated movie of the year. With Disney taking over Fox and Deadpool joining the MCU , the time has finally come for the finishing result. Wade Wilson (portrayed of course by Ryan Reynolds) is offered to be taken out of his dimension in favor of the MCU. The only problem is his dimension is in the process of disintegration after the evens of Logan (😢) and Tom Wambsgans- I mean Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen) decides to end its misery and destroy it instead of waiting for the inevitable. Obviously this doesn't sit well with Wade, so he turns to a more incompetent version of Wolverine (one deemed the "worst" Wolverine) to help save his dimension.  This movie was exactly what a Deadpool movie needs to be, stupid as HELL. Deadpool remains an idiot and his dynamic with Wolverine was very well paced. Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's chemistry was very good and surprisingly very balanced. Both characters had their fair-share of

Top 10 Signature Songs

You know how an artists has that one song that pretty much defines their career and who they are as an artist? This is a list of those songs. Please keep in mind that just because an artist and their song is on the list doesn’t mean I like the song or the artist (especially the artist). It just means that I acknowledge the impact and importance of the song and/or artist. One song per artist. #10: The Real Slim Shady- Eminem Technically speaking, Lose Yourself is more notable than The Real Slim Shady . But I feel like this song really set the standard on who Eminem is as an artist. He pretty much hit the jackpot when coming up with such an iconic nickname, and Eminem presents it with so much personality, style, rhythm and aggression that it just works. I'm not even sure if it could have as much of an effect on people with someone else in the track. Only Eminem could make it work. Again I have nothing against Lose Yourself , in fact I love that song more than this one. But I feel
