I Am Disappointed & Heartbroken

If you remember in 2019, the movie Joker was released to mixed critical reception but great audience reception and was a massive box-office success. It's sequel, Folie à Deux on the other hand is a totally different story. To be honest the movie itself is basically a recap of everything that happened in the first movie, but in the form of a court drama musical and Harley Quinn enters the picture.

The movie being bad is an overstatement. Disappointing on the other hand is the correct way to describe it. The writing wasn't the greatest and the musical numbers just didn't work. I understand what the movie was going for, but it was executed very poorly. Not that I'm a fan, but Harley Quinn was completely wasted in this movie. I know she was basically known as Joker's ride or die, but she was more than willing to get her hands dirty. I thought that would be the case here, but she barely did anything in this movie aside from supporting Joker throughout his trial and putting stupid ideas in his head. The entire relationship of Joker and Harley never got gritty as all. It was just them singing songs the entire time and a bunch of stupid dream sequences. No one wants to see that, they want to see them kill! It most likely wouldn't be much of a problem if the movie was more action and the music came at the side. But the movie was less action, more court drama. Joker himself had some mischaracterization, mainly involving the ending (which itself was rather stupid).  Again, I understand where the movie was coming from in terms of being a musical, but the songs came in at some of the most random and ridiculous times to the point where it became extremely cringy. Also, Harvey Dent was kinda useless too.

The movie did have some good elements. Phoenix and Gaga did a very good job, their acting was fantastic and their chemistry was on point. Visually, the movie looks gorgeous. And lastly, there was also a court scene involving Gary that was easily the best scene in the movie.

As someone who highly approves of the first one, I am disappointed and heartbroken by this movie. They should've left it at the original😔. Thanks for reading.

Introduction

Bio My name is Naomi Marie Elidios Chadwick. I was born in San Diego, California, but I currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I pretty much have a traditional family, which involves happily married parents, 1 younger sister, and an older brother. I was raised Christian, and I continue to practice Christianity to this day. This is not a spiritual blog but some of the content that I post is influenced by my faith. Every now and then I will post Christian content as well, just not always (except with Billboard ). The picture you see up above is me at the airport with my father after I graduated from AmeriCorps NCCC after 10 months of community service. In response I received a congressional award for community service. I've always been really proud of that. I was diagnosed with Asperger's (a form of Autism) around the age of 6, but I was not informed of my diagnosis until I was 12. I'm very into movies and television (animation especially), and pop culture as a whole, and I...

What The Hell Did I Even Watch!?!🤣

I think ever since Lady Gaga's performance in A Star Is Born , musicians have been trying to jump in on the band wagon. The Weekend is one of those musicians who's trying, and failing miserably. First he tried with The Idol , and we all saw how that crashed and burned. And now he decided to turn his newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow into a movie, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself. Oh yeah, Jenna Ortega and  Barry Keoghan are in this too.  The Weekend is obviously on this vendetta to prove to people that he can act, and it's getting kind of pathetic. The movie is just.....not good.  There's barely even a plot, it's just an elongated music video that involves The Weekend crying too much. Now, I will give him some credit for actually trying this time (unlike in The Idol ). But unfortunately, instead of coming off as a troubled musician, this felt like I was watching one of the 3-5 year-olds my mom deals with at her job. I'm aware that this movie was in...
