Big Releases For October 2024

If anyone is paying attention, I apologize for not blogging for a while. If you saw my Facebook post, I've had a lack of motivation to post and I have been a little sad lately. But now I've returned and we're gonna talk about some new movies. Ironically, they're all sequels;

 Joker: Folie a Deux- Friday

Joker: Folie a Deux is probably the second most anticipated movie of this year after Deadpool & Wolverine. This movie is going to DESTROY the box-office just like the last one. It also helps that Lady Gaga (who's literally Harley Quinn in real life) is a cash grab as well. Also like the last one, critics are very mixed on this movie. But at the end of the day, the fans are gonna win this argument. I do intend on seeing this movie. I saw the last one and I LOVED it. I will most likely have the same reaction to this one

 Smile 2- October 18

I did not see the first Smile, so it should be no surprise that I have no intention in seeing this one either. I think this movie will be a box-office draw as critics and audiences liked the original. That doesn't automatically mean they'll love this one, but it does help.

 Venom: The Last Dance- October 25

I've never seen the first 2 Venoms and after suffering through Madame Webb, I never will. So of course I'm not seeing this movie. Given critics hated the first 2 movies (as well as most of the films in Sony's franchise), they're probably gonna hate this movie too. However, this movie is most likely gonna do great in terms of the box-office. The first one did relatively well and Let There Be Carnage did even better. So I wouldn't be surprised if this was a similar case.

Thanks For Reading.

Discombobulated But Good

  I've always had an odd relationship with The Color Purple . I don't care enough to read the book, and some family of mine participated in a community production of the Broadway musical. I do like the original movie, but it's also EXTREMELY annoying due to some of it's subject matters. I saw the remake yesterday, and it of course centers on Celie Harris-Johnson and the struggles she's had throughout her life. The movie is all over the place in terms of it's writing, pacing, and it's music (and considering this was directed by the same idiot behind Black Is King,  I am not surprised). Don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible. But there were times in the movie where I wanted more but got less, and in the times I wanted less, I got more than I would like. A lot of songs from the musical were cut in favor of new songs that weren't so great. The songs from the musical that stayed in the movie were arranged horribly. I also felt that the plot moved pret

Top 10 Signature Songs

  You know how an artists has that one song that pretty much defines their career and who they are as an artist? This is a list of those songs. Please keep in mind that just because an artist and their song is on the list doesn’t mean I like the song or the artist (especially the artist). It just means that I acknowledge the impact and importance of the song and/or artist. One song per artist. #10: The Real Slim Shady- Eminem Technically speaking, Lose Yourself is more notable than The Real Slim Shady . But I feel like this song really set the standard on who Eminem is as an artist. He pretty much hit the jackpot when coming up with such an iconic nickname, and Eminem presents it with so much personality, style, rhythm and aggression that it just works. I'm not even sure if it could have as much of an effect on people with someone else in the track. Only Eminem could make it work. Again I have nothing against Lose Yourself , in fact I love that song more than this one. But I feel

Deadpool: Marvel's Favorite Idiot

  Deadpool & Wolverine was probably the most anticipated movie of the year. With Disney taking over Fox and Deadpool joining the MCU , the time has finally come for the finishing result. Wade Wilson (portrayed of course by Ryan Reynolds) is offered to be taken out of his dimension in favor of the MCU. The only problem is his dimension is in the process of disintegration after the evens of Logan (😢) and Tom Wambsgans- I mean Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen) decides to end its misery and destroy it instead of waiting for the inevitable. Obviously this doesn't sit well with Wade, so he turns to a more incompetent version of Wolverine (one deemed the "worst" Wolverine) to help save his dimension.  This movie was exactly what a Deadpool movie needs to be, stupid as HELL. Deadpool remains an idiot and his dynamic with Wolverine was very well paced. Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's chemistry was very good and surprisingly very balanced. Both characters had their fair-share of
