Big Releases For August

New month, new movies, ya'll know the drill;

Trap- Tomorrow

I've seen several trailers for this movie and it looks interesting enough, but I have no intention in seeing it. I'm not really sure where it stands in terms of box-office or critics. Again, I do feel its premise is relatively interesting, but that doesn't automatically mean it's gonna be a box-office draw or that it's gonna be good. You never really know.

 Harold & The Purple Crayon-Tomorrow

I don't know why anyone thought Harold & The Purple Crayon needed a live-action film with a clearly adult 'Harold', especially when we already have imaginative films like IF out this year. Critics already hate this movie, I'm not sure where it stands on box-office. Also, Zachary Levi is better than this and I do not intend on seeing this.

 Borderlands-August 9

Hollywood is really obsessed with video game adaptations right now (I blame The Last Of Us). I barely know anything about this movie aside from the director being responsible for Thanksgiving last year, which did relatively well. Simply judging by that alone, this movie might have a chance in terms of critics. Box-office, I'm not so sure. I'm not a video game person, I don't care enough to see this movie.

 Alien: Romulus- August 16

I actually had the honor of watching Alien and Aliens for the first time last month, and they were AMAZING! I saw a trailer for this when I saw Deadpool & Wolverine (review will be up tomorrow). In my opinion, it actually looks pretty good, but I'm well aware that the franchise has been up and down since Alien 3, which I have not seen. If the reviews and Rotten Tomatoes score is promising, then I will go see this with my dad. If not, forget about it. I don't know where it stands on box-office.

 The Crow- August 23

I've never seen the first Crow. All I know about it is the disastrous incident resulting in the death of Brandon Lee (son of Bruce Lee). Also gothic superheroes, not my thing, so I have no intention in seeing this. Not sure where it stands in terms of critics or box-office, especially considering people hold the first one to such a high standard.

 Thanks For Reading.

Last Minute Music Reviews

  So here are some last minute reviews of songs that I've heard over the past few months that did not reach #1;   Where Is My Husband - Raye This is incredibly fun and strangely catchy. While this is not officially a jazz song, this obviously has jazz influence and it works very well for this song. I will go ahead and admit that this is my introduction to Raya, I have not listened to Oscar Winning Tears . So far, I'm intrigued.    Midnight Sun - Zara Larsson This song is kind of AWESOME. Not only is the production GORGEOUS, but it also has a very nice hook that goes smoothly with Larsson's voice. My sister actually recommended this song to me and I see why. Larsson does currently have a Grammy nomination for this. She's gonna lose, but I'm glad this song got recognized. If my sister see's this, thank you.   How It's Done - Huntrix (From KPop Demon Hunters ) I have been meaning to review this for a while, but I kept getting lazy. Like Golden , this song has g...

What The Hell Did I Even Watch!?!🤣

I think ever since Lady Gaga's performance in A Star Is Born , musicians have been trying to jump in on the band wagon. The Weekend is one of those musicians who's trying, and failing miserably. First he tried with The Idol , and we all saw how that crashed and burned. And now he decided to turn his newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow into a movie, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself. Oh yeah, Jenna Ortega and  Barry Keoghan are in this too.  The Weekend is obviously on this vendetta to prove to people that he can act, and it's getting kind of pathetic. The movie is just.....not good.  There's barely even a plot, it's just an elongated music video that involves The Weekend crying too much. Now, I will give him some credit for actually trying this time (unlike in The Idol ). But unfortunately, instead of coming off as a troubled musician, this felt like I was watching one of the 3-5 year-olds my mom deals with at her job. I'm aware that this movie was in...
