Glen Powell strikes again with yet another summer movie, though he is not the main protagonist. That honor belongs to Daisy Edgar-Jones' character Kate, a storm chaser attempting to weaken a tornado. After her first attempt that went HORRIBLY wrong, Anthony Ramos' character offers her a new opportunity. Though they find themselves in a competition with Powell's character before eventually working together. This movie also serves as the standalone sequel to the 1996 film Twister.
This might be better than the first one, and I really like the first one. The visuals and sound affects were FANTASTIC and possibly the best part of the movie. They were absolutely terrifying and made me wonder why on earth anyone chases tornadoes for living. The plot wasn't anything special, but it was at least decent. The acting was good, again nothing special but still good. Powell and Edgar-Jones had a very nice dynamic and I strangely like that it didn't turn into a love story (been there, done that with the first one). Though I think there might've been some implications, which is fine too. I also appreciate that they didn't turn Powell's character (who seems antagonistic at first) into a typical jerk like Hollywood normally does with male characters (in my opinion). We did see that with another character however. Ramos was also likeable enough for me.
I don't know or care whether or not the movie was scientifically accurate. What I do know is that I had a good time during this movie. It's incredibly fun and I highly recommend it. I do not however recommend chasing a tornado. Seriously DO NOT CHASE TORNADOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for reading.
