Glen Powell Surprised Me

Hit Man is a black comedy released in Venice last year before it was made available to Netflix a few weeks ago. Hollywood's new leading man Glen Powell portrays a college professor who also serves as a hit man for the New Orleans Police Department. Things get relatively complicated when he meets a woman he's supposed to bust and falls in love with her.

This is a very good movie. I was pleasantly surprised by how sophisticated (albeit slightly risqué) the writing was. It was very smooth and had several unexpected turns as well. Glen Powell was very good in this. Given the different type of characters he has to portray in this, I was impressed by how well he pulled off each disguise. I was even more surprised that he pulled off Gary Johnson's real identity. Gary's a nerd, and doesn't know how attractive he is until he becomes a hit man. I cannot believe I actually found Powell believable as a nerd as well as the other personas. His chemistry with Adria Arjona was also good. And lastly, I liked Austin Amelio as Jasper (the jerkface who originally had Gary's job). He was a very good antagonist.

There's not really a lot of negatives in this movie to be honest. I highly recommend it. Thanks For Reading.

American Idol 2025 Thoughts: Day 1

American Idol  has officially reached its live shows so that means it's time to start the commentaries. For those of you who didn't track these last year, here's an explanation; I will be saying my thoughts on the contestants and their performances. In typical 'me' fashion, I will rank each performance to #1. But unlike my normal lists, this will be from worst to best.  This will be starting the following week as today is just an introduction. Our Top 24 has been chosen and they are as follows;     Canaan James Hill (Platinum)             Gabby Simone  Zaylie Windsor                         Mattie Pruitt  Thunderstorm Artis                  Drew Ryn  Che                                     ...

Introduction

Bio My name is Naomi Marie Elidios Chadwick. I was born in San Diego, California, but I currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I pretty much have a traditional family, which involves happily married parents, 1 younger sister, and an older brother. I was raised Christian, and I continue to practice Christianity to this day. This is not a spiritual blog but some of the content that I post is influenced by my faith. Every now and then I will post Christian content as well, just not always (except with Billboard ). The picture you see up above is me at the airport with my father after I graduated from AmeriCorps NCCC after 10 months of community service. In response I received a congressional award for community service. I've always been really proud of that. I was diagnosed with Asperger's (a form of Autism) around the age of 6, but I was not informed of my diagnosis until I was 12. I'm very into movies and television (animation especially), and pop culture as a whole, and I...

American Idol 2025 Day 2: Top 24

I would like to say that for the first week of live shows, a good majority of contestants either did REALLY good or better than they should have. I personally was very impressed with the last 2 days. With that being said, I still gotta rank. Today I will be ranking every single performance from worst to best. This ranking is solely based on my opinion. If you have not read last week's introduction, I highly suggest you read that first before this ranking;   Worst Performance Of The Week:  Baylee Littrell Happy - Pharrell This really kills me. Not sure what he was thinking with this song choice #23: Josh King I'm Still Standing - Elton John Him and Baylee equally sucked. But at least this song was more in Josh's league #22: Olivier Bergeron   I'm Not Okay - Jelly Roll He's kind of bland to me #21: Desmond Roberts Do I Do - Stevie Wonder Needs to calm down a little #20: John Foster Callin' Baton Rouge - Various Also kind of bland #19: Kyana Fanene I Am - St...
