American Idol Day 2: Top 24

So Sunday and yesterday, Idol had the first 2 of their live shows of the season with the Top 24. Today I will be ranking every single performance from worst to best. This ranking is solely based on my opinion. If you have not read last week's introduction, I highly suggest you read that first before this ranking;

Worst Performance Of The Weak: Blake Proehl

Anyone- Justin Bieber

He probably had the most vocal flaws of the night in my opinion. Again, if he perfects his craft then he'll be great.

#23: Kennedy Reid

Fancy- Reba McEntire

Kennedy actually grew on me during Hollywood Week. She's shrunk back down now

#22: Elleigh Marie

Forget You- CeeLo Green

Why did she even pick this song. It makes no sense to me 😕

#21: Hailey Mia

She's All I Wanna Be- Tate McRae

She was fine but I expect better

#20: Julia Gagnon

Rumor Has It- Adele

She surprisingly held back a little too much. I said she needed trimming, but not that much trimming

#19: Jayna Elise

Confident- Demi Lovato

She's an example of a lot of runs but still bland. I want to like her (mainly because of her kindness) but I just find her voice generic

#18: Jennifer Jefferies

Bruises- Lewis Capaldi

She's should've lowered the note. Otherwise she could've gone all out

#17: KBlocks

Harley's In Hawaii- Katy Perry

One foul note was a problem, but I applaud her for doing a judge's song

#16: Mia Matthews

Daddy's Hands- Holly Dunn

This was sweet but nothing special. Still a little too innocent

#15: Quintavious

Something In The Water- Carrie Underwood

The biggest example this year of a lot of runs but still bland. Except this one's got some tricks too. I appreciate the worship song though

#14: Jordan Anthony

Titanium- David Guetta Ft. Sia

I thought he was decent. Not great, but decent. Also, I love this song

#13: Odell Bunton Jr.

Uptown Funk- Mark Ronson Ft. Bruno Mars

He's this low because while he wasn't bad, I know he can do better. Honestly, he would've been a better singer for Forget You then Elleigh

#12: Kayko

How To Live Without You- Original

Not amazing, but sweet.

#11: KB Richins

Heaven- Bryan Adams

A little shaky towards the end, but still a decent job

#10: Abi Carter

Oceans (Where Feet May Fall)- Hillsong United

One foul note kept her from being a lot higher. But again, I appreciate the worship song

#9: McKenna Faith Breinholt

The Story- Brandi Carlile

Not amazing, but good

#8: Mackenzie Sol

Jealous- Nick Jonas

This is the second time he's done a song called Jealous 😂

#7: Will Moseley

(Sittin' On ) The Dock By The Bay- Otis Redding

He looks like a professional up there

#6: Ajii

Higher- Tems

Improvement from previous performance and I'm a sucker for Reggae

#5: Jack Blocker

Rainbow- Kacey Musgraves

He was pretty good. The song worked well with his voice and his style

#4: Triston Harper

God's Country- Blake Shelton

I wish he did a little bit more. But overall, very good performance

#3: Emmy Russell

Beautiful Things- Benson Boone

She surprised me. I'm very impressed with the arrangement of this song

#2: Roman Collins

How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)- Marvin Gaye

Probably the most fun performance of the night

Best Performance Of The Week: Nya

The Best- Tina Turner

Ironic isn't it? 😏

Again, this is my opinion. Anyway, we'll be doing this again next week. Thanks for reading.

American Idol 2025 Thoughts: Day 1

American Idol  has officially reached its live shows so that means it's time to start the commentaries. For those of you who didn't track these last year, here's an explanation; I will be saying my thoughts on the contestants and their performances. In typical 'me' fashion, I will rank each performance to #1. But unlike my normal lists, this will be from worst to best.  This will be starting the following week as today is just an introduction. Our Top 24 has been chosen and they are as follows;     Canaan James Hill (Platinum)             Gabby Simone  Zaylie Windsor                         Mattie Pruitt  Thunderstorm Artis                  Drew Ryn  Che                                     ...

Introduction

Bio My name is Naomi Marie Elidios Chadwick. I was born in San Diego, California, but I currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I pretty much have a traditional family, which involves happily married parents, 1 younger sister, and an older brother. I was raised Christian, and I continue to practice Christianity to this day. This is not a spiritual blog but some of the content that I post is influenced by my faith. Every now and then I will post Christian content as well, just not always (except with Billboard ). The picture you see up above is me at the airport with my father after I graduated from AmeriCorps NCCC after 10 months of community service. In response I received a congressional award for community service. I've always been really proud of that. I was diagnosed with Asperger's (a form of Autism) around the age of 6, but I was not informed of my diagnosis until I was 12. I'm very into movies and television (animation especially), and pop culture as a whole, and I...

What The Hell Did I Even Watch!?!🤣

I think ever since Lady Gaga's performance in A Star Is Born , musicians have been trying to jump in on the band wagon. The Weekend is one of those musicians who's trying, and failing miserably. First he tried with The Idol , and we all saw how that crashed and burned. And now he decided to turn his newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow into a movie, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself. Oh yeah, Jenna Ortega and  Barry Keoghan are in this too.  The Weekend is obviously on this vendetta to prove to people that he can act, and it's getting kind of pathetic. The movie is just.....not good.  There's barely even a plot, it's just an elongated music video that involves The Weekend crying too much. Now, I will give him some credit for actually trying this time (unlike in The Idol ). But unfortunately, instead of coming off as a troubled musician, this felt like I was watching one of the 3-5 year-olds my mom deals with at her job. I'm aware that this movie was in...
