Me and my mom saw Bob Marley: One Love a little over a week ago. It's pretty obvious what the movie's subject is, a biopic on the life of reggae icon Bob Marley.
The movie was fine.......that's it. The movie's weak points were it's writing. They didn't do a very good job at explaining the dynamic between Marley and his father (whom I didn't know was white). I wouldn't say it was done horribly, but the fact that I barely cared about this part of his story says a lot about the effort that was put into that part of the story.
Positives on the other hand, the acting and the music was pretty good. Kingsley Ben-Adir and Lashana Lynch did very well as the Marleys. I'm not a huge reggae fan, but I did enjoy the music. I also enjoyed that we learned more about Marley and the Rastafarian culture.
But overall the movie is fine and I do feel that Jamaica and those who follow the Rastafarian faith will appreciate this movie. Thanks For Reading.
