Maestro & The Iron Claw

I present to you, the last reviews of the year. Ironically, these are both biopics. Though one is a sports bio while the other is a musical one. Maestro was released to Netflix about a week ago, and it chronicles the life of American composer Leonard Bernstein. The Iron Claw on the other hand I saw yesterday, and the wrestling bio centers on Kevin Von Erich and his EXTREMELY unlucky family.

Maestro

I'll admit, the movie did at times get a little bit boring. However, it made up for it with it's fantastic performances, beautiful cinematography, and and it's gorgeous music (of course provided by the deceased Bernstein). Bradley Cooper (who also served as the film's director) was great as pretty much always. Carey Mulligan was also good, though I never particularly cared for her.

The Iron Claw

The Iron Claw was FANTASTIC, and very very sad. I like how it starts off as a very warm existence within the family and wrestling was something that bonded them (the brothers especially) together. But as we got deeper into the movie, we lose more and more members and everything becomes incredibly bleak. That was very well paced and very well balanced. While the performances in Maestro were stronger, the acting in this was pretty good as well. Well done to Zac, I was very impressed with him. I will also call out Jeremy Allen White, whom in my opinion was the best out of everyone

With these reviews over and done, I can now rank every movie I've seen this year. I won't say the list will come out soon though. Expect it at least some time next month. Thanks for reading.

American Idol 2025 Thoughts: Day 1

American Idol  has officially reached its live shows so that means it's time to start the commentaries. For those of you who didn't track these last year, here's an explanation; I will be saying my thoughts on the contestants and their performances. In typical 'me' fashion, I will rank each performance to #1. But unlike my normal lists, this will be from worst to best.  This will be starting the following week as today is just an introduction. Our Top 24 has been chosen and they are as follows;     Canaan James Hill (Platinum)             Gabby Simone  Zaylie Windsor                         Mattie Pruitt  Thunderstorm Artis                  Drew Ryn  Che                                     ...

Introduction

Bio My name is Naomi Marie Elidios Chadwick. I was born in San Diego, California, but I currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I pretty much have a traditional family, which involves happily married parents, 1 younger sister, and an older brother. I was raised Christian, and I continue to practice Christianity to this day. This is not a spiritual blog but some of the content that I post is influenced by my faith. Every now and then I will post Christian content as well, just not always (except with Billboard ). The picture you see up above is me at the airport with my father after I graduated from AmeriCorps NCCC after 10 months of community service. In response I received a congressional award for community service. I've always been really proud of that. I was diagnosed with Asperger's (a form of Autism) around the age of 6, but I was not informed of my diagnosis until I was 12. I'm very into movies and television (animation especially), and pop culture as a whole, and I...

What The Hell Did I Even Watch!?!🤣

I think ever since Lady Gaga's performance in A Star Is Born , musicians have been trying to jump in on the band wagon. The Weekend is one of those musicians who's trying, and failing miserably. First he tried with The Idol , and we all saw how that crashed and burned. And now he decided to turn his newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow into a movie, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself. Oh yeah, Jenna Ortega and  Barry Keoghan are in this too.  The Weekend is obviously on this vendetta to prove to people that he can act, and it's getting kind of pathetic. The movie is just.....not good.  There's barely even a plot, it's just an elongated music video that involves The Weekend crying too much. Now, I will give him some credit for actually trying this time (unlike in The Idol ). But unfortunately, instead of coming off as a troubled musician, this felt like I was watching one of the 3-5 year-olds my mom deals with at her job. I'm aware that this movie was in...
