Billboard #1 This Week

In an attempt to expand the music material on this blog, I'm going to speak on the weekly #1 of the billboard Hot 100. Hopefully this will be every week, but if the #1 is the same as the previous week then I will most likely skip. In parallel to the secular charts, I will also be speaking on the worship charts. Again this isn't a faith based blog, but because I find most of today's secular music to be trash, I gotta find some way to make this more interesting for me. How this will work is that I will check out only the #1 of the charts, listen to the song and give my thoughts. However, If the song is by an artist that I severely dislike or it appears to support a message that isn't necessarily bad, but I cannot swallow, then I will not listen to it or speak on it. There are songs with bad messages that I like, but if the message is too frustrating for me to deal with, I will pass on the song. Because of the setback that was just mentioned, I will not be speaking on this week's worship #1 (ironically) as I have a severe dislike for the artist.

Slime You Out- Drake Ft. Sza

To my surprise, I actually thought that this song was pretty good, just not great. For me, what draws me to a song is the melody. I  pretty much like what I like. While I wouldn't say the melody is amazing, I did find it slightly soothing. I could barely understand what was being said in the song, so that's one flaw. Other than that, I didn't mind it. I wouldn't be surprised if it stayed on the charts a little longer, maybe even #1 a little longer. But that's mainly because it's Drake, not because there's something special about it. I wouldn't highly recommend it, but it wouldn't hurt to give it a try either.

There isn't really much to be said about this week's #1. And again, I would've spoken about worship's #1 if is didn't dislike the artist. Hopefully, next week's post will be a little bit longer and have a little more depth to it. Thanks for reading.

Last Minute Music Reviews

So here are some last minute reviews of songs that I've heard over the past few months that did not reach #1;   Where Is My Husband - Raye This is incredibly fun and strangely catchy. While this is not officially a jazz song, this obviously has jazz influence and it works very well for this song. I will go ahead and admit that this is my introduction to Raya, I have not listened to Oscar Winning Tears . So far, I'm intrigued.    Midnight Sun - Zara Larsson This song is kind of AWESOME. Not only is the production GORGEOUS, but it also has a very nice hook that goes smoothly with Larsson's voice. My sister actually recommended this song to me and I see why. Larsson does currently have a Grammy nomination for this. She's gonna lose, but I'm glad this song got recognized. If my sister see's this, thank you.   How It's Done - Huntrix (From KPop Demon Hunters ) I have been meaning to review this for a while, but I kept getting lazy. Like Golden , this song has g...

What The Hell Did I Even Watch!?!🤣

I think ever since Lady Gaga's performance in A Star Is Born , musicians have been trying to jump in on the band wagon. The Weekend is one of those musicians who's trying, and failing miserably. First he tried with The Idol , and we all saw how that crashed and burned. And now he decided to turn his newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow into a movie, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself. Oh yeah, Jenna Ortega and  Barry Keoghan are in this too.  The Weekend is obviously on this vendetta to prove to people that he can act, and it's getting kind of pathetic. The movie is just.....not good.  There's barely even a plot, it's just an elongated music video that involves The Weekend crying too much. Now, I will give him some credit for actually trying this time (unlike in The Idol ). But unfortunately, instead of coming off as a troubled musician, this felt like I was watching one of the 3-5 year-olds my mom deals with at her job. I'm aware that this movie was in...
