Big Releases For October

So another thing that I would like to start doing for the blog is address some of the biggest releases of the month and whether or not I intend on seeing the movies . I will also mostly speak on my prediction of its box-office and critical reception. So this obviously is the first post and I will do these posts monthly. Considering it's October, It should come as no surprise that most of these movies are horror (which I am not a fan of).

The Exorcist: Believer- October 6

I'm pretty sure the first time I saw a trailer for this one was when I saw Oppenheimer with my dad and I've seen promos for this ever since. I have no desire to see this movie as demon possession is not my thing. I do however think that it will do very well in the box-office as it is a sequel to a film that is considered one of the greatest of all time in terms of the horror genre and movies as a whole. The return of Ellen Burstyn, who was in the original Exorcist, will also help with the movie's release. In terms of critical reception, It's probably gonna do good, but obviously critics will immediately compare it to the original. And there are very few times when a sequel or remake outshines the original (repeat: FEW times, not never. Top Gun: Maverick for example was AWESOME!).

 Pet Sematary: Bloodlines- October 6

I have never seen a trailer for this, which might be a bad sign, but I don't know for sure. I also have no desire to see this one for similar reasons with the last one. This one will probably do fine at the box-office, but mainly because as I mentioned earlier, it's October and people will probably want to see horror movies, that and it's a Stephen King movie. This is also part of notable horror franchise, but a prequel to a remake. And what differs this from Exorcist is that the Pet Sematary franchise has always had mixed reception. While the remake is more liked than the original, it's not by that much. So I can't really count this as a factor in the movie possibly succeeding in the box-office.

Killers Of The Flower Moon- October 20

The first time I saw a trailer for this was when I saw Mission Impossible with my aunt. We both thought it looked pretty good, mainly because it's Martin Scorsese and Leo DiCaprio, which is from what I hear, normally a winning combination. I can only judge by one movie, which is The Departed. While I didn't love it, I understand why it is critically acclaimed and I do believe it is well deserved. Despite this, I'm not too sure I want to see the movie do the slightly political subject matter. That and one of the actresses is a narcissist. Box-office wise, it'll do good because it's DiCaprio and Scorsese. Just not amazing because Scorsese movies aren't known for that. The movie already has a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, so critical reception won't be a problem. Again, it's DiCaprio and Scorsese.

So that's all the important releases in my opinion. There are probably more, but I don't really care cause it's October. Thanks For Reading. BYEEE!

Last Minute Music Reviews

So here are some last minute reviews of songs that I've heard over the past few months that did not reach #1;   Where Is My Husband - Raye This is incredibly fun and strangely catchy. While this is not officially a jazz song, this obviously has jazz influence and it works very well for this song. I will go ahead and admit that this is my introduction to Raya, I have not listened to Oscar Winning Tears . So far, I'm intrigued.    Midnight Sun - Zara Larsson This song is kind of AWESOME. Not only is the production GORGEOUS, but it also has a very nice hook that goes smoothly with Larsson's voice. My sister actually recommended this song to me and I see why. Larsson does currently have a Grammy nomination for this. She's gonna lose, but I'm glad this song got recognized. If my sister see's this, thank you.   How It's Done - Huntrix (From KPop Demon Hunters ) I have been meaning to review this for a while, but I kept getting lazy. Like Golden , this song has g...

What The Hell Did I Even Watch!?!🤣

I think ever since Lady Gaga's performance in A Star Is Born , musicians have been trying to jump in on the band wagon. The Weekend is one of those musicians who's trying, and failing miserably. First he tried with The Idol , and we all saw how that crashed and burned. And now he decided to turn his newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow into a movie, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself. Oh yeah, Jenna Ortega and  Barry Keoghan are in this too.  The Weekend is obviously on this vendetta to prove to people that he can act, and it's getting kind of pathetic. The movie is just.....not good.  There's barely even a plot, it's just an elongated music video that involves The Weekend crying too much. Now, I will give him some credit for actually trying this time (unlike in The Idol ). But unfortunately, instead of coming off as a troubled musician, this felt like I was watching one of the 3-5 year-olds my mom deals with at her job. I'm aware that this movie was in...
