This is a list of female antagonistic characters from animated movies who always and forever want to be #1. While mean girl characters are definitely antagonist, I don’t always consider them villains, just simple antagonist. Though there are a few characters on this list who are villainous, they still qualify if I do not see them at the same level as characters such as Maleficent or The Evil Queen.
#10: Taffyta Muttonfudge- Wreck It Ralph
Taffyta led a group of bullies that frequently harassed Vanellope to the point where they completely destroyed her original kart. I won’t deny that she was under the influence of King Candy, but the fact that she was more than willing to go to great lengths just to make Vanellope's miserable is just cruel on so many levels. She even nearly blew Vanellope off a mountain. I don’t think she was trying to kill her, but it was still over the top. Thankfully, Vanellope unintentionally gave her and her group of thugs their just desserts (literally). Taffyta does apologize for her actions, but that was only because they found out that she was the rightful ruler of Sugar Rush (that and she threatened to execute her). If she was just a normal resident, they would still bully her and treat her like dirt. So not only is Taffyta a mean girl, she’s also a butt-kisser.
I don’t think anyone understands why Mertle’s #1 goal in life is to make Lilo’s (or Weird-lo’s) life as miserable as possible. It’s bad enough the girl just lost her parents, she doesn’t need this big nosed little twerp constantly bullying her and making her feel like the odd one out. She’s also not the nicest to Stitch either as she refers to him as a “disconfigured” dog. Mertle is 1 of 2 characters on this list who’s nasty behavior also extends to television. She has been seen to often get her just desserts, and whenever she does, it’s satisfying as HELL. The only reason she (sort of) made amends with Lilo was because she found out that her own dog was actually an alien and one of Jumba’s experiments (Watch “Leroy & Stitch”).
Cera is the other character who’s cold behavior extended to TV as well, but she’s obviously mostly known for the endless movies. Cera has been shown to be arrogant, hard-headed and a little bit racist. Though most of this is her father’s fault as he inserted certain ideas into her head. She’s also shown to be a rather possessive personality as she insisted on taking over the group in the 1st movie only to reach dead ends. And even after she’s been proven wrong, she refuses to take ownership of it. Cera does have a sweet personality and isn’t without her sympathetic moments. But sometimes it’s buried under this hideous side of herself. I know that most of her behavior is her father’s fault and it’s easy to influence a child. But at the same time, that doesn’t excuse the way she treats the other characters. Particularly Little Foot, whom she has the most problems with.
Before Oliver came into the picture, Georgette was the award sweeping dog of the Foxworth family. She’s used to being the center of attention, so it should come as no surprise that she was Jealous with a capital J when Oliver came into the picture. The girl just couldn’t handle all eyes not being on her for once in her life. She was so jealous that when Fagin’s goons broke into their house, she was more annoyed at the fact that they were looking for Oliver than scared of the actual break-in at her house. You know someone is way too into themselves when that is the case. She does eventually change her ways and finally accepts Oliver into her family, so I will give her props for that. But, the whole world can’t revolve around you Georgette.
Like a lot of typical mean girls, Darla Dimple comes off as a sweet innocent girl that you just want to hug and never let go. But internally, she’s a devious, villainous, little brat. Basically, she’s the anti-Shirley Temple (whom she is based on). Now I'm not much of an animal person but her extreme hatred towards animals is rather over-the-top. The fact that even I'm saying this says a lot. Darla might be the most short-tempered character on this list as this girl is a literal ticking time bomb. By the end of the film, Darla has been reduced to a janitor (talk about child labor). Hopefully she has no intention of making a comeback. But if she does (Lord help us all), I highly suggest that she take some anger management classes.
#5: Lola- Shark Tale
Let's just get to the point, Lola's a gold digger. Lola immediately caught the eye of movie protagonist, Oscar. But the minute she realized that he's a "nobody", she wanted nothing to do with him. Then the whole "shark slayer" incident happened and all of a sudden, she thinks he's hot. Lola is also kind of a hypocrite, as she gets extremely offended when Oscar dumps her and beats him against the window. You didn't even care about him prior to the "shark slayer" thing and when he wants out you're offended? SCREW YOU! Lola is probably the only character on this list that didn't get what she deserved, which is a real shame. I know she wasn't a super important character, but It would've been nice to either see her working for Oscar and Angie or get eaten by a shark (I know that's harsh, but still).
Like Taffyta, the stepsisters were also under someone else's influence. But that does not excuse the way they treat Cinderella. Though their mother did most of the dirty work, the girls' most despicable act was the destruction of Cinderella's dress. I'm more disturbed that they did this literally while she was wearing the dress. They would've stripped her naked if their mother hadn't stopped them. That was them at their absolute worst. At least Anastasia changed her wicked ways and became a better person. To be honest, Anastasia might've had the most growth out of all the characters on this list (and on the "Cinderella" franchise as well) . Drizella on the other hand is still a piece of trash and I’m not really sure if she has any chance in heading towards a positive direction like her sister.
You know that group of bullies you encounter at school, that's the hyenas in a nutshell but worse. Shenzi serves as the leader of the pack and the only girl in the group. You can tell that she genuinely enjoys being a hyena. She finds absolute joy in picking on her "dinner". Shenzi is also someone you do not want to cross. Scar found that out the hard way as he completely threw her and the other hyenas under the bus, claiming that killing Mufasa was their idea instead of his. He shouldn't have done as Shenzi and the others responded by eating Scar, which is gross on so many levels. Shenzi might be the most dangerous character on this list. Unless she's afraid of you like she is with Mufasa, do not get on her bad side. Repeat: DO NOT get on her bad side.
While I consider Shenzi the most dangerous character, Holli comes at a close second (though she's definitely the most seductive). Holli to me is Jessica Rabbit if she were evil. It should come as no surprise that Holli’s most powerful aspect is her seductive personality as I see her as the type of person who uses her looks to get whatever the Hell she wants. And when push comes to shove and it gets down to the wire, she’s not afraid to get dirty. We see that as she kills Frank (unaware that he would come back as a doodle). While she did get what she oh-so desired (to become a noid, slang for human), she’s ultimately turned back into a doodle permanently and is stuck with Jack by the end of the movie. Holli was definitely a nasty chick, but the cleverness and sneaky nature of my next pick is ultimately what bumped Would to #2.
Before I reveal my top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.....................
Foxy Loxy- Chicken Little
Cindy Vortex- Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius
-She was a real butthole -Jimmy Neutron was originally a movie, so she counts
Helga Sinclair- Atlantis: The Lost Empire
-"Nothing Personal"
So I had the unfortunate displeasure of watching “Zootopia” for the first time a few months ago after my aunt gave me a challenge. I still hate the movie, but I won’t deny that it was very well crafted. Dawn is probably the best written character on this list. Her wolf in sheep's clothing nature was not only well hidden, but the reveal was very well done. Dawn came off as an innocent little sheep who was constantly pushed around by her predator boss. But the second Judy noticed something was off, that’s when everything started to come together. And Dawn’s quick change in her nature once Judy realized the truth pretty much confirmed her suspicions. I will always hate Zootopia, but the movie did a great job with Dawn. She’s a fantastic mean girl and I will gladly give her my top spot.
