The Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special

Hello. Now another thing I have decided to do on the site is post my thoughts on almost every new movie and tv show that I see. I'm not going to rank it or anything, just simply discuss the plot and how I feel about the subject as a whole. This was one of the first new things I have seen since starting the website.

Plot

So since Gamora's passing, Peter Quill has been a little depressed. It also doesn't help that it's Christmas time and that was completely ruined by Yondu when Peter was a child. To cheer him up, Mantis wants to get him a Christmas present, which is great unless you let Drax decide the present. He decided that the perfect present for Peter is to kidnap his childhood hero Kevin Bacon. And there sets in motion various hijinks that include Mantis getting drunk probably for the first time, and Drax oddly getting tickled by bullets. Mr. Bacon is understandably horrified by this encounter until Mantis mind controls him with her powers. These 2 morons were under the impression that Bacon was an actual hero and are deeply irritated when they realize he's just an actor. It should come as no surprise that Peter did not like having a abduction victim as a present and immediately demands that Mr. Bacon is returned home. However, after hearing about Peter's crappy Christmas memory, Mr. Bacon decides to stay a little bite longer to celebrate Christmas with the Guardians. Peter reveals the Yondu got him the blasters that became his dominate weapons for a Christmas gift, so the memory wasn't that bad. This moment becomes even more sweet when Mantis outs herself as Peter's sister, and the 2 embrace.

Thoughts

I absolutely loved this special. It was very well written and very well paced. And it was very nice to see a segment most focused on Drax & Mantis and they make a nice duo. Even the smaller stuff (such as Rocket getting Bucky's arm as a present) was entertaining. But what I love the most about it (and the entire GOTG saga as a whole) is that it mixes funny moments with sweet moments. In my opinion the best scene in the special was Mantis' revelation to Peter. It was so sweet and something you somewhat wouldn't expect to work but just does. It's nice to know that Peter has some more family out there (besides the guardians and even they don't always like each other) and I do hope we see more of Peter and Mantis' relationship in the future. Now because of this moment, a lot of people believe that either Mantis or Peter might die in the GOTG Vol 3 movie. While I still believe that it's gonna be Rocket who kicks the bucket, I definitely have my worries, but I guess we'll see.

Anyway, that's my thoughts. Feel free to comment down below.

In typical 'me' fashion, I will rank each performance to #1. But unlike my normal lists, this will be from worst to best.  This will be starting the following week as today is just an introduction. Our Top 24 has been chosen and they are as follows;     Canaan James Hill (Platinum)             Gabby Simone  Zaylie Windsor                         Mattie Pruitt  Thunderstorm Artis                  Drew Ryn  Che                                     ...

Introduction

Bio My name is Naomi Marie Elidios Chadwick. I was born in San Diego, California, but I currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I pretty much have a traditional family, which involves happily married parents, 1 younger sister, and an older brother. I was raised Christian, and I continue to practice Christianity to this day. This is not a spiritual blog but some of the content that I post is influenced by my faith. Every now and then I will post Christian content as well, just not always (except with Billboard ). The picture you see up above is me at the airport with my father after I graduated from AmeriCorps NCCC after 10 months of community service. In response I received a congressional award for community service. I've always been really proud of that. I was diagnosed with Asperger's (a form of Autism) around the age of 6, but I was not informed of my diagnosis until I was 12. I'm very into movies and television (animation especially), and pop culture as a whole, and I...

What The Hell Did I Even Watch!?!🤣

I think ever since Lady Gaga's performance in A Star Is Born , musicians have been trying to jump in on the band wagon. The Weekend is one of those musicians who's trying, and failing miserably. First he tried with The Idol , and we all saw how that crashed and burned. And now he decided to turn his newest album Hurry Up Tomorrow into a movie, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself. Oh yeah, Jenna Ortega and  Barry Keoghan are in this too.  The Weekend is obviously on this vendetta to prove to people that he can act, and it's getting kind of pathetic. The movie is just.....not good.  There's barely even a plot, it's just an elongated music video that involves The Weekend crying too much. Now, I will give him some credit for actually trying this time (unlike in The Idol ). But unfortunately, instead of coming off as a troubled musician, this felt like I was watching one of the 3-5 year-olds my mom deals with at her job. I'm aware that this movie was in...
