This is a list of animated female characters that are basically the definition of a Karen. That’s ….pretty much it.
#10: Cadence Flynn- Phineas & Ferb
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got nothing against Candace. She’s a hilarious character and has experienced a little bit of growth (hence the reason why she’s so low on this list). However, her obsession with getting her brothers in trouble for no reason at all other than to be in charge (probably) is pretty Karen-ish. Phineas & Ferb aren’t completely innocent, but it’s obvious that they do this because they want to make the most of their summer and not to bother or hurt Candace. Not to mention they have shown time and time again that they care very deeply about their sister and have helped her on many occasions. Also, the fact that she sees herself as some type of justice enforcer is kinda ridiculous. Hell, she’s never even been officially placed in charge of her brothers and constantly nagged her mother to place her in charge. Just calm down!
#9: Moon Butterfly- Star Vs The Forces Of Evil
Moon Butterfly seems to believe that her way is always the best even when it comes to her own family (especially her daughter and her sister). I’m not super familiar with ‘Star V. The Forces Of Evil’, but it seems to me that Moon might be the source of many problems of the series due to her inability to be accepting to either change or anything different. It’s probably not fair for me to make these assumptions since I don’t really know for sure, but that is the impression I got from what I have seen from the series. With all this, I do consider Moon a Karen. Like my last entry, her growth is why she’s lower on the list.
#8: The Matchmaker- Mulan
Okay, I know this woman has had only one appearance in the movie (2 in the series as a whole), but who she is as a person is pretty much summed up in the 1 time she shows up in the movie. She’s rude, unattractive, and pretty much called out every single flaw about Mulan that she could find. She even went as far as telling Mulan that she will never bring her family honor. I know that Mulan did try to cheat but coming after her entire life when she barely even knows her is just ridiculous. Technically in her eyes, anyone who does not live up to her standards is beneath her, hence the reason why she is indeed a Karen. Well, the egg is in her face, as Mulan went on to save all of China. Ha Ha!!!!
#7: Pam Manson- Danny Phantom
If you have your own political beliefs, that’s fine. However, it becomes a problem when you start to shove it down people’s faces. That’s the problem with Pam Manson, as both she and her husband constantly try to shove their beliefs in their daughter Sam’s face and mold her into the daughter they want her to be. Not to mention, they disapprove of Danny and his family to the point where they place a restraining order against Danny. If that doesn’t scream ‘EXTREME KAREN’, then I don’t know what will. Unfortunately, Pam’s ‘Karen’ nature has passed on to her daughter to an extent, as she also tends to shove her beliefs in people’s faces and take extreme measures to make her voice heard and force people to follow her.
#6: Gladys Sharp- Over The Hedge
I get it, not everyone's animal person (I’m definitely not an animal person) and wild animals in your household, as well as your neighborhood is a problem. However, Gladys took her ambitions just a little two far. And I mean ‘Straight Up Insane’ far. As we can see, she’s not always taken seriously by others much to her irritation. Maybe the reason why you’re not taken seriously is because of your controlling and insane nature. She doesn’t seem to understand that because, well, she's Karen. This woman needs some serious professional therapy, and soon as possible.
#5: The Sour Kangaroo- Horton Hears A Who!
As far as I know, there is no official elected official in the Jungle of Nool, so why the Hell does this kangaroo feel so obligated to tell others how to live their lives and take such an issue with Horton messing around with that spec. I understand that technically until the end of the movie, there was no way for her to really know whether or not Horton was telling the truth. But that does not mean it was right to put the poor elephant through Hell. I mean she sent both a vulture and an angry mob after him over a stupid little spec and genuinely believes that she was doing the right or reasonable thing because he was a ‘threat’ to society. That is the ultimate Karen. Don’t get me wrong, she did realize that she was wrong and made amends with Horton, but he’s too easily forgiving. Me, not so much.
#4: Sheila Broflovski- South Park
Let’s be honest, ‘South Park’ has a buttload of psychotic characters (obviously Eric is the most psychotic). The show also has some questionable parents, and while Sheila isn’t the worst she does have her problems. To be completely honest, the main reason she’s on this list is because she got the entire town of South Park to turn against Canada of all places, CANADA! Canada has some of the nicest people on the planet. I’m gonna half to go with Eric on his thoughts about Kyle’s mom (which is inappropriate but understandable). Can you imagine a Karen turning an entire group of people against 1 country? That would make it official, the apocalypse is coming.
#3: Muriel P. Finster- Recess
Mrs. Finster is kinda the stuff of nightmares. To me she represents what every young kid sees as a fantasy mean teacher. Considering she was in the Navy; I’m not surprised that she’s a tough cookie. But there was once a time when she was nice to those kids. And from what I’ve heard, she became cruel with one of the reasons being she saw kids having fun during recess. So she basically became mean because she dislikes that site of kids enjoying themselves which Is odd. This woman is probably responsible for why younger kids look at teachers the way they do. So teachers having issues with kids, blame this chick.
#2: Fairy Godmother- Shrek 2
I think it’s safe to say that this version of the fairy godmother is a huge departure from the ‘Cinderella’ version. This version is manipulative, controlling, and extremely bias against anything not human. She despises Shrek & Fiona’s relationship due to Shrek being an ogre and it also does not help that Fiona was promised to her spoiled brat of a son as a deal with King Harold to keep him human. Anything that is different or against the typical fairy tale ending is wrong In her eyes and she’s incredibly obsessed with keeping things the way she feels should be as well as getting what she wants. She would have been a good pick for #1 if my next entry was not even worse. But for now, she’s runner-up.
Now before I reveal my top pick, here are a few dishonorable mentions.......
Abuela: Encanto
Duchess: Fosters
-Obviously she improved but she was a total jerk -Her personality's more ugly than her face
Piranhica: Fish Hooks
Ming Lee: Turning Red
-She's the most manipulative towards her boyfriend - This chick gives Freddie's mom a run for her money
#1: Queen Of Hearts- Alice In Wonderland
It's one thing to deal with a local Karen but imagine living in a world where she was the queen, that’s just pure Hell! The Queen of Hearts is probably the original Karen when it comes to animation. Literally everyone must walk on eggshells to keep her from getting angry at the price of getting their heads chopped off. I bet a nickel that most Karens would threaten that metaphorically, but the Queen Of Hearts is the one Karen that would mean that literally. What’s even more disturbing is that she seems to take pride and pleasure in doing this and probably finds her reasons for doing this completely justified. That is sick on so many levels. I think it’s safe to say that she is both the Queen Of Hearts and Karens.
