Top 10 Actresses Who Should Voice Disney Princesses

So for my next list, these are a list of actresses that I feel would be perfect for voicing a Disney Princess. This is mainly based on their acting skills and their singing abilities. Any actress that has already portrayed or voiced a princess that is in the official line-up in any type of way (such as Broadway, voice acting, etc) is excluded. For example, Halle Bailey who is portraying Ariel in the upcoming ‘Little Mermaid’ remake or Naomi Scott, who portrayed Jasmine in the ‘Aladdin’ remake, is not eligible. Just a reminder the official line up is: Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida, & Moana (by the way I personally consider Anna & Elsa official members as well so anyone who has portrayed them before is also ineligible). Actresses will be eligible even if they have portrayed a princess from Disney as long as the character is not in the official line-up.

#10: Anne Hathaway

This one might not be particularly fair considering Anne Hathaway has portrayed a Disney Princess before, as Mia Thermopolis in The ‘Princess Diaries’ franchise (and Ella Enchanted if it counts). However, it’s obvious that there’s a reason why she was chosen to play these characters. Hathaway knows how to bring the right amount of determination and personality that’s needed to portray a Disney Princess. Mia and Ella (along with her Oscar) is proof of that. We also know that Hathaway can sing, which is also an important element to portraying a Disney Princess. Say what you want about Hathaway, but she would do an awesome job.

#9: Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt also has an advantage considering she portrayed Mary Poppins. While she may not be a Disney Princess, she’s definitely a beloved Disney Character. Blunt pretty much has what is needed to voice a Disney Princess. She can sing and she can act (and yet she has never gotten an Oscar nomination (annoyed emoji)). She also has voice acting experience as well through ‘Gnomeo & Juliet’. While the movie is not amazing it is still decent, and she did a good job as Juliet. Considering she is already Disney royalty, why not cast her as a princess?

#8: Amanda Seyfried

I feel like Amanda Seyfried has moved up a lot since I was introduced to her. At first I only saw her as a teen movie actress, but now is an A-lister, has even earned an Oscar nomination and has an Emmy. She has also shown to be multi-talented as we see in the movie ‘Mamma Mia’, which isn’t perfect but decent and Seyfried has a pretty nice voice (definitely better that Pierce Brosnan’s). She also does have experience with voice acting through Blue Sky’s ‘Epic’. She would make a great Disney Princess, she already looks like Rapunzel.

#7: Renee Elise Goldsberry

For those of you who do not know who this is, Renee Elise Goldsberry is an insanely talented Broadway actress. She’s mostly known for her role as Angelica Schyler Church in my favorite Musical ‘Hamilton’, which she won a Tony for. She’s currently starring in the Peacock comedy series ‘Girls5eva’. Goldsberry amazed me in ‘Hamilton’ and does a very good job in ‘Girls5ever’ too. That to me is a huge accomplishment considering stage acting and camera acting are very different. Same goes with voice acting (which might be the hardest). If she can hold her own in both styles, she’ll do great voicing a Disney Princess. If there ever will be another Black Disney Princess, I hope Goldsberry voices her.

#6: Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick is very talented. Her voice is beautiful and can work in different genres. We hear the secular side of her voice in the ‘Pitch Perfect’ Series as well as the ‘Trolls’ franchise, and her Broadway-ish side in Disney’s ‘Into The Woods’. She also has an Oscar, Emmy & Golden Globe nomination in her resume. As mentioned earlier, she already has voice acting experience, and while ‘Trolls’ is not the greatest, it doesn’t downplay the talent that Kendrick has. I feel she can voice a Disney Princess very well.

#5: Eva Noblezada

Eva Noblezada probably has the best voice out of everyone on this list (and that says a lot considering the voices on this list). She mesmerized everyone on Broadway through ‘Miss Saigon’ and ‘Hadestown’. But what about movies and TV? Well she does have voice acting experience through Apple TV’s ‘Luck’, which isn’t great but not terrible. She also has movie experience through ‘Yellow Rose’ & ‘Easter Sunday’. TV was probably her best though aside from Broadway she starred in an episode of ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ and did a really good job. ‘Luck’ probably was not the best movie to truly showcase her talents, so a Disney Princess role would be perfect for her.

#4: Phillipa Soo

From one Schyler sister to another. Phillipa Soo starred alongside Goldsberry in ‘Hamilton’ as younger sister Elizabeth Schyler (soon to be Hamilton). Soo has a little advantage over Goldsberry as she has voice acted before in Netflix’s ‘Over The Moon’. While the movie is nothing special (and trying to hard to be Disney), it was still decent, and Soo did a great job. And in terms of singing, probably the best voice in the movie. So, her plus voicing a Disney Princess would equal a homerun in my opinion.

#3: Stephanie J. Block

I was introduced to Stephanie J. Block through the Broadway adaptation of ‘9 To 5’. She also has multiple Tony nominations in her resume and 1 win for the Cher Show. While she has starred in TV productions, she’s not too big on movies and TV so it might be odd that she’s on this list. But the main thing that puts her on this list is her voice, which is very beautiful. I do feel that her voice would work perfectly for a Disney Princess and if she’s given the chance, she might surprise us.

#2: Sutton Foster

Sutton Foster is a literal triple treat. And in terms of acting, she’s a double threat. Not only has she been successful in Broadway, but she’s also been successful in TV as well. Mainly through the comedy series ‘Younger’, which ran for 7 seasons. It may be underrated but it still has its supporters. If she can carry a TV series for 7 seasons and portray an ogre princess, then voicing a Disney Princess should be a breeze. Aside from my #1, Sutton Foster might possibly make the perfect Disney Princess.

Now before I reveal my top pick, here are a few honorable mentions..........

 Vanessa Hudgens                                         Dove Cameron

-Voice might be too 'Teen poppy'                                                                      -Not perfect but extra points for 'Descendants'

 Brandy                                                              Patina Miller

-Singing is good, acting could use work                                                          -If Renee wasn't here, she would've taken her spot

#1: Kristin Chenoweth

There is a long list of reasons as to why Kristin Chenoweth should voice a Disney Princess. Not only is her voice gorgeous, but she is already an acting triple treat. We all know her as Glinda through ‘Wicked’. TV wise she’s had quite a few shows such as ‘Pushing Daisies’ (for which she won an Emmy), ‘Schmigadoon!’, and most notably ‘The West Wing’. She’s already a huge step ahead with voice acting and Disney history, as she briefly voiced Rosetta in the ‘Tinkerbell’ series. However, her best voice acting role was Gabby in ‘Rio 2’. Chenoweth is literally perfect for a Disney Princess and more than deserving for the my #1, which is ironic considering her ‘Wicked’ costar (*cough* *cough* IDINA MENZEL).

Introduction

Bio My name is Naomi Marie Elidios Chadwick. I was born in San Diego, California, but I currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I pretty much have a traditional family, which involves happily married parents, 1 younger sister, and an older brother. I was raised Christian, and I continue to practice Christianity to this day. This is not a spiritual blog but some of the content that I post is influenced by my faith. Every now and then I will post Christian content as well, just not always (except with Billboard ). The picture you see up above is me at the airport with my father after I graduated from AmeriCorps NCCC after 10 months of community service. In response I received a congressional award for community service. I've always been really proud of that. I was diagnosed with Asperger's (a form of Autism) around the age of 6, but I was not informed of my diagnosis until I was 12. I'm very into movies and television (animation especially), and pop culture as a whole, and I...

First Day Of 2024/2025 Awards Race

It is about that time of year again where Hollywood gives out its most prestigious awards to most of the time the least deserving. But that doesn't mean I'm not gonna pay attention like always. But this year we will be shaking things up a little. Allow me to explain; Here's How This Works: Each year, I will have a target subject I'm rooting for this season. When the nominations for each award show are announced, I will do a small commentary on whether or not the subject has a chance of winning. However, this year instead of focusing on just the target, I will also be focusing on those I think are frontrunners in different categories for the season as a whole, whether I'm rooting for them or not.  I will most likely say a last minute thought the day before the award show. I will be tracking down all the way up to the big dogs: THE OSCARS. The Awards: We will be focusing on 5 awards; -The Golden Globes -The BAFTA's -The Critics Choice -The SAG Awards and Of Cour...
