Top 10 Actors Who Should Voice A Disney Prince

Okay now it’s the boy’s turn.  This is a list of actors that I feel would be perfect for voicing a Disney Prince based on both their acting and singing abilities. Like the girls list, any actor that has already portrayed a prince that is considered in the line-up in any type of way (Broadway, voice acting, etc) is excluded. For example, Mena Massound portrayed Aladdin for the remake, and Josh Dallas, who portrayed Prince Charming (or Florian) in ‘Once Upon A Time’. Reminder for the main line up of princes: Florian, Charming, Philip, Eric, Beast, Aladdin, John Smith, Li Shang, Naveen, Flynn Rider (Like Anna & Elsa with the girls list, I do consider Kristoff an official prince so anyone who has played him is also disqualified).  If an actor has portrayed a prince from Disney, that’s fine as long as the character is not in the line up.

#10: Reeve Carney

Broadway wise, Carney is mostly known for his role as Orpheus in ‘Hadestown’. Secular music wise, he’s an Indie Rock artist. The reason why he’s on this list is somewhat the same reason as Anna Kendrick in my princess list, it pretty much shows that his voice works in different genres. As I mentioned on the princess list, stage, screen and voice acting are very different from each other and I feel that already shows a lot of versatility that will probably be needed to voice a Disney Prince. And I know when it comes to the princes (at least the main ones anyway with the exception of a few) personality does not always stand out but that can change.

#9: Jordan Fisher

Jordan Fisher is one step ahead considering he’s already a Disney alumni. Starring in moderate favorites such as ‘Teen Beach Movie’ and ‘Liv & Maddie’. He has also voiced a Disney character as he was the lead singer of 4Town in Pixar’s ‘Turning Red’. Of all the boys on this list, Fisher is probably the one who will most likely voice a prince, which is perfect considering he might actually be a real life Disney Prince. He’s incredibly sweet and very talented. He’ll make a great prince.

#8: Leslie Odom Jr.

Leslie Odom Jr. is mostly known for his role as Aaron Burr in my favorite musical ‘Hamilton’ along with his performance as Sam Cooke in ‘One Night In Miami…….’. Odom Jr. hands down has the best voice in this entire list and like Carney his voice works in different genres as it can be soulful and elegant. And as mentioned before Odom Jr. held his own in both the stage and the screen, winning a Tony for Hamilton and earning an Oscar nomination for both his performance and his songwriting. Leslie Odom Jr. voicing a Disney Prince is literally a dream come true.

#7: Zac Efron

Like my #9 pick, Zac Efron is also a Disney alumni. Pretty much all the 2000s kids (including myself) will always see him as Troy Bolton from the oh-so popular ‘High School Musical’ franchise, despite the fact that he was able to make a great career for himself. Ironically, in the first ‘High School Musical’, Drew Seely actually did his singing, which is funny because Efron is a good singer (of course he and/or Disney probably do have their reasons). But I can see him voicing a Disney Prince, not just because of his voice but I also feel that he has the personality to voice a Flynn Rider-like character. That would work very well for him.

#6: Josh Groban

I was actually introduced to Josh Groban through the assistant teacher in my 3rd grade class. In terms of acting, he’s mostly known for Broadway work. Most notably ‘The Great Comet’ for which he earned a Tony nomination for. While I’m aware he was in ‘Crazy Stupid Love’, the only onscreen appearance I’ve seen of him was on ‘The Crazy Ones’, which was hilarious. I do feel that he has enough versatility to voice a Disney Prince in terms of both singing and acting. And the acting is a huge surprise for me considering I've mostly known him through music.

#5: Ethan Slater

Ethan Slater is pretty much known for his role as Spongebob in ‘Spongebob Squarepants’ (the musical), for which he received a Tony nomination for. The main reason why I put him on the list is because of his voice and personality. His voice is literally perfect for a prince and he has the sweetest personality (which was probably why he was able to portray Spongebob so well). Slater may not not be the most known person on this list, but that does not undermine his talents and would do great at voicing a Disney Prince.

#4: Aaron Tveit

Aaron Tveit is new to me as I was introduced to him through his victory speech  for ‘Moulin Rouge’ at the Tonys. He’s currently starring as Danny Bailey in Apple TV’s ‘ Schmigadoon!’. I was impressed when I saw a promo video of him singing in a production of ‘Moulin Rouge’ as well as a cover of Maria from ‘West Side Story’. He’s already doing pretty well with the stage and the small screen and he already has the perfect voice so voicing a Disney Prince would be perfect for him and I believe he could pull it off very well.

#3: Jeremy Jordan

Along with Fisher and Efron, Jeremy Jordan is already one step ahead as most fans of ‘Tangled’ know him as Varian from the Disney Channel series ‘Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure’. That was pretty much how I was introduced to Jordan and let me tell ya, that boy can SANG. He really impressed me in the show and I didn’t realize he was also a Broadway star, mainly through ‘Newsies’ for which he earned a Tony nomination for. With all this, If he ever does get a chance to work for Disney again, I hope it’s as a prince.

#2: Ben Platt

Ben Platt is insanely talented. Platt is mostly known as Benj in the ‘Pitch Perfect’ series and as Evan Hanson in the popular Broadway musical ‘Dear Evan Hanson’, for which he won a Tony for. He may not seem like much in ‘Pitch Perfect’, but do not let that fool you. We don’t notice until ‘Dear Evan Hanson’ what a powerhouse this man truly is. His voice is absolutely golden. Along with both my last pick, my #4 & and my #1 pick, Ben Plat would pretty much make the perfect Disney Prince, and they need to hire him NOW!

Now before I reveal my top pick, here are a few honorable mentions...........

 Ryan McCartan                   Zach Callison

-Not perfect but decent                                                       - 'Steven Universe' gives him an advantage

 Skylar Astin                        Joshua Henry

- Another 'Pitch Perfect' alumni                                           - This guy can SANG!

#1: Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman is LEGENDARY. Not only on the silver screen (‘Les Misérables’ (Oscar nominated), ‘The Prestige’ & the ‘X-Men’ series just to name a few) but also on the stage as well. He has 2 Tony nominations in his resume and 1 win for ‘The Boy From Oz’. He’s also a step ahead with voice acting with some of his most notable roles being ‘Happy Feet’, ‘Rise Of The Guardians’, and ‘The Missing Link’. But my favorite voice performance from him will always and forever be ‘Flushed Away’. With all this, It should be kinda obvious why he is my #1. Disney, Hire Him IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!

Introduction

Bio My name is Naomi Marie Elidios Chadwick. I was born in San Diego, California, but I currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I pretty much have a traditional family, which involves happily married parents, 1 younger sister, and an older brother. I was raised Christian, and I continue to practice Christianity to this day. This is not a spiritual blog but some of the content that I post is influenced by my faith. Every now and then I will post Christian content as well, just not always (except with Billboard ). The picture you see up above is me at the airport with my father after I graduated from AmeriCorps NCCC after 10 months of community service. In response I received a congressional award for community service. I've always been really proud of that. I was diagnosed with Asperger's (a form of Autism) around the age of 6, but I was not informed of my diagnosis until I was 12. I'm very into movies and television (animation especially), and pop culture as a whole, and I...

First Day Of 2024/2025 Awards Race

It is about that time of year again where Hollywood gives out its most prestigious awards to most of the time the least deserving. But that doesn't mean I'm not gonna pay attention like always. But this year we will be shaking things up a little. Allow me to explain; Here's How This Works: Each year, I will have a target subject I'm rooting for this season. When the nominations for each award show are announced, I will do a small commentary on whether or not the subject has a chance of winning. However, this year instead of focusing on just the target, I will also be focusing on those I think are frontrunners in different categories for the season as a whole, whether I'm rooting for them or not.  I will most likely say a last minute thought the day before the award show. I will be tracking down all the way up to the big dogs: THE OSCARS. The Awards: We will be focusing on 5 awards; -The Golden Globes -The BAFTA's -The Critics Choice -The SAG Awards and Of Cour...
